Please note that Manfred Paul's patch (id=3252) suggested by Vitaliy Margolen

does NOT fix this (2918) issue, as Manfred reported to me privately.
Still a palette problem; typical of other older applications that used
256-colour palettes.

Gladly, if you will explain how to do it. Thanks!

Summary: Day of Defeat: Source runs extremely slowly because of
internet
Product: Wine
Version: CVS
Platform: Other
OS/Version: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-net
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: svdw(a)udel.edu
Basically Day of Defeat: Source runs so slowly over the internet that it is
unplayable. It runs on the same engine that half life 2 does (source engine) so
I'm assuming that this isn't a rendering problem and is in fact a net problem.
I'll attach what an xterm says while running it, however I doubt that'll be of
any help.

Just tried running MOO2 under Wine 0.9.21, and it still hangs.
I did notice one additional symptom, though. When a user does a Ctrl-Alt-Del,
Fedora brings up a window that allows the user to reboot the system, log out, or
cancel. When MOO2 under Wine hangs, if I do a Ctrl-Alt-Del and then just cancel
and go back to MOO2, the game cursor will usually jump ahead to where it was
supposed to be, catching up to the system cursor. Further, if I had clicked on
a button with the system cursor during the hang, MOO2 would often process the
click, and the game would respond to the click. Of course, as soon as I move
the mouse again, it hangs again.
Does this seem to indicate some sort of race condition that is being interrupted
when I do Ctrl-Alt-Del? Is that something that can be checked or diagnosed
somehow? Thanks in advance to all who respond.

cataclysm page fault ubuntu 6.06 Dapper after titles
This is to confirm, cataclysm now page faults in ubuntu 6.06 at roughly the
point where the menu should appear. This is the shift from the canned
introduction to interactive. Ubuntu is fully current. The hardware is a
relatively uncommon sis based board, a celeron 1.6 GB with 512 MB of ram.
Homeworld runs cleanly, Homeworld cataclysm does this. I am checking the
DirectX setting. I suspect that it is defaulting to DirectX rather than the
openGL setup.
Additional behaviour: The exit leaves the screen in 640x480 resolution.
