Summary: Page fault in QCharts when closing dialog
Product: Wine
Version: CVS
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-user
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: cdunn42(a)yahoo.com
I have been experiencing a crash with page fault in QCharts, usually when
closing a dialog (I can always reproduce it by playing with preferences for less
than a minute). After much testing, I've determined that it is being caused by
this patch :
http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-cvs/2006-December/028783.html
Although it seems unrelated (that is a mshtml patch, while the crash seems to
occur in the user32 winproc code), I've found that if I back out that patch, the
problem disappears. I've tested that several times. This continues to be the
case with current CVS as of 1/10/2007.
I will attach the console output of the backtrace.

I can't change X to 16-bit mode and I don't think that this is the solution for
my problem.

When it works in windows "out of the box", this should also work in wine "out of
the box". So it's still a bug in wine (correct me if I wrong)

Why the bug is closed? We are get this behaviour in Ubuntu 6.10 with locale
ru_RU.UTF8. Is it bug in Xorg build on the Ubuntu? Does anyone know the
simular reports (as I see, xev do not work on the Ubuntu with the same
simptoms... Why XCreateIC returns NULL XIC pointer?

YES, THAT'S!
With the additional parameter in the wine-java.exe-call
"-Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true"
works tomcat and the web-contexts are accessible within a browser completely
and error-free!!!

Nevermind about that. Works fine for me too, probably really a font issue.
FYI http://wiki.winehq.org/Recommended_Packages says you should not install
FontForge from Sarge, did you try with a more recent version? (No idea if this
could cause it...)

Vitaliy: That didn't fix it.
Hismmom: I had a horrible feeling that would be true. I'm going to close this
bug then as it's an issue with the game and not Wine. Shame. Using the keyboard
for scroll controls is horrid.

I just tested with wine-0.9.29. The page fault does not get triggered but as
expected, I get an error message in Office.
Is there any target version for implementing the missing interfaces or do I
have to test every single version from now on?
