Summary: Turbocad LE file save error
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.25.
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: critical
Priority: P2
Component: wine-winelib
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: tedhansen(a)sasktel.net
Saving files in Turbocad native (.tcw) format results in an unreadable corrupted file with
wine version 0.9.25. Attempting to reopen Turbocad gives a "Failed to open ?: Loading
Header" error.
Other file save formats available (.dxf, .dwg & others) appear to be working correctly.
Last version known to work properly is 0.9.20, I have not tested versions in between
0.9.20 and 0.9.25. By mixing & matching wine & libwine versions I have determined that
that the bug is in libwine, not in wine.
The error message that shows up when attempting to open a corrupted file is:
crashedagain@desktop:~$ wine .wine/drive_c/IMSI/TCWLE/PROGRAM/tcw40.exe
fixme:ole:CoRegisterMessageFilter message filter has been registered, but will not be used
fixme:ole:ITypeInfo_fnRelease destroy child objects
err:ole:StdMarshalImpl_ReleaseMarshalData could not map object ID to stub manager,
oxid=800000009, oid=10
err:ole:CoReleaseMarshalData IMarshal::ReleaseMarshalData failed with error 0x8001011d
Wine exited with a successful status
(The fixme's are normal, only the err's are relevant to the bug)
I will attach samples of a good save (wine 0.9.20) and a corrupted file if I can figure out
how....Sorry, I cannot figure out how to create the attachment. The files are small (35kB
each) I will email them to anyone if they want them. Looking at the files with a text editor
it appears the order of some of the information is mixed up...some data which should be
near the beginning is tacked on at the end, maybe more errors as well.

It works properly here. Please check bug 6547. Could be the same problem.
Also make sure sound is configured properly (see terminal for any additional
messages).

Orginal installation (from 2 CDs) of Red Orchestra wasn't working with wine, so
I installed it in Windows. After installation I switched back to Linux and
copied Red Orchestra (consisting steam installation) to ~/.wine/drive_c/Program
Files. Then I started Steam in simple way - wine Steam.exe. Steam was working
(and still is) fine. I was trying launch RO via Steam\My Games, but all I've got
was runtime error.
I didn't give up, so I deleted local game files via Steam and downloaded game
(by Steam). Steam done everything, but RO still not starts.

Summary: WINE stops responding after function call (app specific
problem)
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.28.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: wine-misc
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: doom3d(a)atw.hu
I tried to use Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Complete game's mapeditor. Whenever I
try to use "show passability" button, WINE stops responding.
I can reproduce this failure by running this exe, load any map and use ctrl+p.
I also tried to create a new map using this option. When I add new land squares
to the map, "show passability" function works, but the mapeditor slows down
exponentially. I reached very soon 100% CPU load, (mapeditor should run on PI
100Mhz under Win98, I have Athlon XP 1700+, 768MB RAM), 94% taken by
/usr/X11R6/bin/x:0 -br.. , and 5% by mapeditor.
This executable needs some additional resources, so right now I can't post it.
(I have to dig for them using the heroes resource editor.)
I am using Ubuntu Linux 6.10, with WineHQ 0.9.28.

To get "Wine with debug information" I would have to compile wine myself, right?

Component: wine-misc
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: jjk3(a)msstate.edu
The Need for Speed III installer can't detect the cdrom it's being installed
from. I've tried running it the following ways:
$ wine /media/cdrom0/setup/english/setup.exe
$ cd /media/cdrom0/setup/english ; wine setup.exe
Each time the installer starts, but produces an error that says "You must have a
CD-ROM in order to install!"
