Summary: Lord of the Rings Online - Switch to windowed mode
causes program to abort
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.43.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-directx
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: ajackson(a)bcs.org.uk
Got a strange problem that has started to occur since the changes to 0.9.43.
When you start the game in full screen mode and then try to switch to windowed
mode the game client displays an error dialog box and when you click OK (it
displays it 3 times) the game crashes and returns you to the command prompt.
The only error shown on the console is
err:d3d:IWineD3DImpl_CheckDeviceType unsupported format WINED3DFMT_X8R8G8B8
Having looked at the function in dlls/wined3d/directx.c I noticed something a
bit strange.
The function contains a line of code that reads:
for (it = 0; it < nCfgs; ++i)
The function above it contains a very similar line which seems to be doing the
same check.
for (it = 0; it < Adapters[Adapter].nCfgs; ++i)
I added the Adapters[Adapter] part to the function where the error was occuring
and can now switch to windowed mode without getting an error message.
If you need any traces or regression testing let me know and I'll provide the
information.

Summary: Black Screen while using dxlevel 90, 80 or 81 to play
CS:S
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.43.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-directx
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: steffen-trekki(a)web.de
When I started CS:S the first time, I got a black Screen, but everything works,
only the screen was black.
I tried to disable the Pixel Shader, but it doesn't helped.
A few days later, I read that you have to use "dxlevel70", I tried it and it
works.
But now I've only 20 fps.
I've an ATI Radeon X1600 Sapphire with fglrx driver (games like Americas Army
or World of Padman, or even Stronghold Crusader working fine, so it's not my
system).
I've heared the same from many other friends which use wine, so it is really a
wine problem.

Summary: Guildwars - crash on holding right mousebutton and
doubleclicking
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.39.
Platform: PC

Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P3

ReportedBy: david_kaufmann(a)gmx.at
On my system (Linux 2.6.21-gentoo-r4 i686 Intel Core 2 CPU T7200 @ 2.00GHz)
with wine-0.9.39 (emerged from Portage tree) wine when running Guild Wars
crashes without message (Window closes an process exits) when I hold the right
mouse-button and double-click anywhere in the wine-window. It does not matter
whether I'm logged in or not. I'm running wine with the command:
wine "C:\Program Files\Guildwars\Gw.exe" -windowed -nosound >/dev/null 2>&1
(Even without sending all to /dev/null it shows no message related to this bug)
As this is my first bugreport I hope I wrote it in a way you understand it. :)

diffrence between the versions 0.9.40 and 0.9.41
Some fonts in Gothic 3 aren't there anymore. In version 0.9.40 and below the
fonts are rendered correctly but width version 0.9.41 the fonts are gone. The
configuration and all other stuff are the same. In version 0.9.42 it is the
same as in 0.9.41.
I cannot test higher versions than 0.9.42 because Gothic 3 crashes in the
loading screen.

In this image you can see the issue.
When I open the msn messenger chats windows the display images aren't showed.
Also in the contact card the images aren't showed. And in the chats windows
when the contact has smiles on its nick name the smiles appear with a weird
black color, like a shadow.

Hello, as subject when I use Beryl and/or Compiz as default window manager and
I run any Win32 application with Wine, the canvas of application's main wnidow
aren't shown.
If I use Metacity (2D desktop) window's canvas are properly drawn.
If I switch to Beryl/Compiz from Metacity the canvas of already running Wine
windows are properly shown, while new Wine applications not.
So is not possible to use any Wine application with 3D desktop enabled.
This never happened before.
Tested with World of Warcraft and eMule.
Thanks,
Ema.

WINEDEBUG=error wine
I did wine Nokia_PC_Suite_6_84_10_3_eng_web.exe to install and it fails to
load. I then ran a WINEDEBUG=error wine Nokia_PC_Suite_6_84_10_3_eng_web.exe
and attached is the output.
I thought it might work if I put a native gdi32.dll file and it still doesn't
work after setting it in winecfg so I'm not to sure where to apply this bug.
It seems that there is a missing function inside gdi32.dll however you would
have thought that with a native dll it would have that function in it.
