You do not need to run cmd for that. 'wine my_console_program.exe' works perfectly.

I'm not attempting to "test" wine, I'm attempting to use the command prompt. If
I wanted to "test" wine, I would of course run something much more interesting.
>From there, I use real command line windows programs, for example a compiler for
an embedded processor that only has a Windows version.
Consider yourself flamed for such a silly response. >-|
OTOH, thanks for the --backend parameter -- that gets me a working command
prompt, so I'm back in business.

Additionally, changing your comment on the server does not update the list--
maybe an event not getting picked up?

Summary: Ventrilo list does not draw correctly at times
Product: Wine
Version: CVS
Platform: PC
URL: http://www.ventrilo.com/
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-gui
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: me(a)gn0me.org
After connecting to a server, the tree list sometimes draws really weird,
usually near the top. Sometimes it adds blank lines, other times it draws two
items over top of one another-- may only be when the list is longer than the
drawing area, but I have not tested this properly as I do not own my own
Ventrilo server.
Screenshot will be attached.
