Yet, it deserves mention that things have somehow improved since first bug-report (improvement is not 0.9.35 specific, but appeared through the series). Specifically: Document icons are now ~ OK. Spurious document tabs still appear, but their behavior is very predictable (for every tab, you get a spurious empty tab, with no window associated to it, that when clicked produces a completely blue or a completely white screen).
