The bug has been already analyzed and fixed, but the patch never got in. I file this bugreport as remainder for anyone interested in committing this fix. On the other hand,(though native ws2_32 is supposed to not work in wine), just for fun i tried: WINEDLLOVERRIDES="ws2_32=n" wine FreddiKelp.exe and after installation the game starts just fine. So looks like native ws2_32 handles this just fine in wine.
