Does Wine print any output in your console?

Make sure you have the very latest wine-version (in your bugreport it says
wine-0.9.37, and there are some new fixes in wine-0.9.38 and current git)
>Could you actually play the demo?
Yes, allthough i only played for 5 seconds ;) Menu's and start of the game
…
[View More]worked at least.
>Can you share your terminal output?
I'll have to reinstall the game then, i'll do that. In meanwhile it's best if
you try the demo as well, and see if you run into the same trouble. If the demo
doesn't run for you too, there must be something wrong with your
wine-setup/graphics drivers

Doh... looking closer, I don't think my build had even gotten to kthread and
glibc before encountering the "new" oleaut32 road block.
Ignore my original comment about this being fixed. Sorry for the waste of time.

I have tried starting the game with native quartz.dll and devenum.dll but I get
exactly the same problem :(. Moreover setting winecfg to Windows98 didn't work
to circumvent the copy protection. Could you actually play the demo? Can you
share your terminal output?

The particular error the original parent referred to no longer exists (loader
builds with --enable-win64).
'Make depend' and 'make' also work (as long as you don't have libicu36-dev
installed). I see that the 'make install' will choke (not having Dmitry's
hacks), now that I test it:
make[2]: Entering directory `/home/evil/src/wine/dlls/oleaut32'

oaidl_p.c:11403:2: error: #error Invalid build platform for this stub.

make[1]: *** [oleaut32/__install-lib__] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/evil/src/wine/dlls'
make: *** [dlls/__install-lib__] Error 2
I haven't tried hacking around that check/#error.
So, I guess the original poster's bug title is still actually true... even if
the reasons have completely changed.
