Summary: vertical text works only in wine compiled without
xrandr/libxrender-dev (utorrent example)
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.39.
Platform: Other
OS/Version: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-comctl32
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: citizenr(a)gmail.com
I noticed something weird when we got a buggy Ubuntu 0.9.35 deb. It was build
without libxrender-dev and fonts were broken, here are two screenshots of
utorrent with proper and broken wine build. When you look at the lower left
corner you will see that "broken" build produces proper vertical "KB / s" graph
label while the good build prints it hotizontally.

Perhaps the error is not in the kernel difference between FC4 and Ubuntu, but in
the major version of some included software. Does FC4 use the same major
versions of X and stuff that Ubuntu does?

One of my boxes is an old 650MHz dual CPU system with Feisty,
so yeah, it's possible this bug is worse with SMP.
But I've also hit it on single core systems.

I don't think the non-express visual C++ requires BITS,
so I don't think this is just a dup of 7189.
It's kind of like bug 7189 plus bug 6194, but only kind of.
So let's leave this open and change the name to
"wine needs to implement BITS".
