Platform: PC-x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal

Component: wine-misc

ReportedBy: phajdan.jr(a)gmail.com
At random moments the game hangs, will attach wine output in a moment.
Note that this log is only relevant for wine 0.9.43. Before it also hanged
sometimes, but the message
err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x7eb87ae0 "gdiobj.c: GDI_level"
wait timed out in thread 000c, blocked by 0009, retrying (60 sec)
wine: Critical section 7eb87ae0 wait failed at address 0x7ef97b20 (thread
000c), starting debugger...
was not present. And before upgrade to 0.9.43 it had some problems with music,
like randomly switching tracks etc (sometimes it hanged during these, sometimes
not). After the upgrade the problem is gone, when it hangs music still plays,
but the mouse does not move, and the game does not receive keyboard input.

Error in wines file open/save dialog - v0.9.42 and above
By using the file open/save dialog I start in 'My computer' navigating through
the 'fake' filesystem of wine. I choose the harddisk c: and the subfolder
'windows'. Normaly I see now the content of this folder but I see the content I
saw before. Choosing now 'windows' showes all the content of this folder.
Also in other folders which are 'under' the Harddrive.
This error apear only by using the 'my computer' first and directly under this
level. Deeper inside the filesystem this error doesn't occur.
There was no change in the configuration: I tried with the version before
(v0.9.41) and all is fine. Only v0.9.42 and now v0.9.43 generate this error.
I include a screenshot of this strange behavior.

Output of WINEDEBUG=+msi wine 'e:\QT\QuickTimeInstaller'
A well-meaning relative bought me a program recently which comes with an
unknown version of QuickTime. QT is critical to this program's function, so
almost the first thing it does is try to kick off the QT installer; and this
fails.
Using the native MSI DLLs doesn't work either, as these work only under Win98,
and this version of QuickTime only works with Win2K or above (you get a dialog
complaining if the version is set too low).
It appears that the installer is trying to run VBScript or something of that
nature without first installing VBScript, and I can't figure out how to install
that (I grabbed scripten.exe from MS, but it insists that it can't find
anywhere to install itself and I haven't figured out why yet). (Output from qt
installation run with DEBUG=msi attached.)
(If VBScript is supposed to be provided by the installer, which I thought it
was, what is QT doing trying to run it without checking if it's there?)

Summary: Master of Orion 2: intro movie video stops when moving

Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.43.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-multimedia
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: bunk(a)stusta.de
Wine 0.9.42 and 0.9.43 have the following regression (up to 0.9.41 it works
fine):
The intro movie video starts normally.
It runs until I move the mouse cursor into the Wine window for the first time.
After this the video no longer runs, and it doesn't run again when leaving the
Wine window with the mouse cursor.
The Wine window contains a freeze image of what was shown when the mouse first
entered the Wine window, and after switching in FVWM to a different virtual
desktop and back it isn't redrawn.
When also enabling sound in winecfg the sound of the intro movie continues
running normally although the video has stopped.
Clicking on the left mouse button inside the Wine window for aborting the intro
movie and getting into the main menu of the game still works.
How to reproduce:
$ wine --version
wine-0.9.43
$ rm -rf ~/.wine
$ winecfg
