[Bug 6351] Battlefield 2 graphics problems

I installed BF2 just fine without errors, installed some windows libraries for direct 3D (found out how to do it from here http://vostrolinux.blogspot.com/2007/11/setting-up-battlefield-2.html ) Battlefield 2 Boots up just fine, I of course don't have a mouse cursor, but I am able to start a single player game. Game works, but I have the "overhang/blob/shader anomaly/cloud/sky glitch" This renders the game unplayable. I try the registry Direct3D "fbo" fix. It renders my game unbootable-- the EA video plays, then after ~3 seconds, the video/application hangs indefinitely. I'm guessing the Direct3D "fbo" fix worked in an earlier version of wine, but not in 1.1.7? Can anyone confirm this so I have some valid reason to try an earlier version?
