The Lan button does nothing when clicked. Here is what the console outputs when clicking it: err:ole:CoInitializeEx Attempt to change threading model of this apartment from apartment threaded to multi-threaded fixme:thread:SetThreadIdealProcessor (0xfffffffe): stub The recommended correction for directplay problems, from the wiki, <url>http://wiki.winehq.org/DirectPlayGames?highlight=(directplay)</url> does not work. Using the native dplay dlls, creating the dll overrides, and using regsvr32 to register them etc. What does work is if you install MS directX 9 using winetricks <url>http://wiki.winehq.org/winetricks</url> Taking the system32 directory from a wine which has been 'fixed' with DirectX 9, and pasting it into a standard wine install does not correct the issue. Even when the overrides are added and all dp* dlls have been reregistered with regsvr32. It appears to me that registry keys are added by the official DX9 installer which AoW2 and AoW2SM require. When attempting to launch the Max Payne demo for the first time from its launcher window, the game fails to start with a dialog box that does not occur on Windows, then returns to the launcher screen. An attempt to relaunch the game will simply result in a C++ exception being thrown. Copy CHL_Network_.exe to drive_c Run CHL_Network_.exe Alt+tab to deal with the broken window management behavior. Fill out registration. Email is never necessary/verified, so fake email is acceptable. Registration completes normally. Select the "Channels" menu. Select "Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees" as a channel. Expected: A Killer Bee game to play. Actual: Nothing happens, there appears to be a loop displaying in the terminal.
