I tested it on Wine 1.1.7, and now menus (the ones that do work) work at a usable speed, but the cursor and text and various menu parts display as black boxes...so I think I'll take the DIB engine off of it as a bug since it doesn't seem to be the reason there. XGrabButton makes it possible on Linux to listen for events of a certain type (such as Control+right click), but Windows can't do it without a low-level mouse hook. Since we can't tell what kind of event the program is looking for, Wine would need to filter all mouse input through the program. Old versions are still available from http://www.adobe.com/support/flex/downloads_updaters.html In particular, this bug is about http://flexorg.wip3.adobe.com/flex201/FlexBuilder_201_Installer.exe (sha1sum 01559050fc0efc1bff1325595b4dc5438f99ccc0 ). I suspect your success was with Flex Builder 3; that does install for me. Flex Builder 2 still doesn't quite, though now instead of crashing, the installer puts up blank windows.
