The transparant portion is not rendered properly. It's good enough to fool you sometimes; it's as if it samples the background once and does the transparancy properly then, but from then on acts as if it's opaque, keeping the originally computed sample of the background no matter what the real background does. Believe it or not, this really annoys some users. This bug (Can't create a file) doesn't appear when I install applications on EXT3 partition. For example this bug shows in installers of: Operation Flashpoint Resistance, Colin McRae Rally 2. It does this with all apps that a I have tested. Im running gentoo, wine git and kernel 2.6.23. I have a funny feeling its a kernel problem (i complied it myself, and wine worked fine on ubuntu) so ill attach my kernel config if it will help. If any tests need doing, ill be glad to run them and post the logs. Please submit the patches for their inclusion :) Anyway, the compression and decompression functions should be implemented for it to work fully. The instructions say the upgrade is for Vista, but is also supposed to run on earlier versions. Problem: The upgrade installs well. However, it does not run. The error message in the box is: Failed to launch UI information server. Is there a workaround for this MEM_BAD_POINTER bug? Here are som information about this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910466/de Or is the problem anywhere else? Running wine Gothic3.exe didn't show this message.
