I'll have to re-test this on the latest wine. I'll try it out here soon. I know
we still get the same kernel errors about i386_set_ldt though:
Mar 5 11:39:13 pcbsd-8206 kernel: See the i386_set_ldt man page for more info
Mar 5 11:39:13 pcbsd-8206 kernel: Warning: pid 91144 used static ldt
I'll provide more details after I run the next test run.

I have compiled wine from Gentoo potage:
app-emulation/wine-0.9.55 USE="X alsa cups gecko jpeg ldap ncurses opengl
samba xml (-dbus) -esd (-hal) -jack -lcms (-nas) -oss (-scanner)"
and FEATURES="parallel-fetch splitdebug"

Using a native gdiplus.dll it displays a message "Microsoft Silverlight could
not be installed on your computer" - at which point a 64k msi file exists,
running msiexec /i silverlight.msi appears to do something - but not much,
visiting a silverlight page in Firefox doesn't recognise silverlight as being
installed.

This is not supported. Most programs have to be properly installed or they
won't work.
Please attach complete output, including command used to start the program of
running this program as-is (no extra debug channels). Make sure you have debug
symbols and that you properly compiled Wine (check with ./configure --verbose).

I provide all data for CityInfo 2.7 with patch applyed.
I have same troubles on current wine.
I can't install Cityinfo from setup. I have error message too.
I have to copy/paster folder from winbox (with applyed patch p27p1.exe)
For me CityInfo 2.7 doesn't work from box on current Gentoo ~amd64.
