It gets past the Valve splash screen, and displays the loading screen, before crashing. I have tested with fullscreen, windowed mode, with, and without a Wine virtual desktop. Wine version is the current latest Git, wine-0.9.56-403-gde928a0, video drivers are the Nvidia 169.12 drivers. Progress so far on making it work on wine 0.9.56 is getting it to the menu and single player / multiplayer. Crash occurs on going into options and trying to change anything, ie team names. Before it crashes you see it minimize to a small box at the bottom left of the screen. Fedora 8, x86_64. IceWM 1.2.35 / MWM 0.95. When starting a full screen Wine application (games), the bottom panel doesn't disappear. I can reproduce the problem under both IceWM and MWM and under a large number of wine based games. The problem cannot be reproduced when native games are running. See the attached screen-shot.
