Summary: IDA disassembler window isn't added to taskbar
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.58.
Platform: PC
URL: http://www.hex-rays.com/idapro/idadown.htm
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: alexd4(a)inbox.lv
IDA doesn't get a button on taskbar, so on minimizing the app it disappears and
can't be found (in non-virtual desktop mode).
Dmitry Timoshkov said on wine-devel about this problem:
"The problem with IDA is that the button you see in the Windows task bar
does not belong to the main IDA window, it belongs to a zero sized visible
window with the same caption. Since it's zero sized Wine doesn't map it all.
So, while formally it's a regression, technically it's not: main IDA window
has never been added to the task bar before my patch. This all can be easily
discovered with spy++ and a simple test app."
Can't be verified in free version (see url).

the stack strace of one insance
This is a follow-up to bug 8246 (the original issue is almost fixed with a
known patch). I found that if I launch multiple help windows, such as
typing "?str", "?rbind", "?cbind", "?stats" in Rgui, then trying to close
those extra help windows one by one, wine would get stuck and stop responding;
at one point it actually crashed with a stack trace in shdocvw/webbrowser.c
(see stack trace attached).
The stuck/crash is almost produceable everything if I have say, 5 help windows
like I detailed.
This is filed just in case somebody can read the stack trace...

it is very simple and exists till i'm using wine with Photoshop (~2years). The
first 1.5 years i've had a 64bit Fedora-Linux and now an 32bit Fedora.
I am currently using wine 0.9.56 in Fedora8 and have tested it today multiple
times and report this, because i have read, that Photoshop-compatibility should
be the goal for Wine 1.0.
The steps are real simple:
1. start Photoshop7
2. Menu -> File -> open
3. an open-file dialog appears
4. select 36 files, all is OK
5. select the 37th file, wine disappears, all gone
I'm running Fedora8 with KDE 3.5.0, Photoshop7 as windows98 application and my
Desktop file contains:

Both CBPlay and CBDesign use a 'selection window' meachinsm with a window that
has a drop down menu at the top and a bunch of icons appearing in the main part
of the window that can be dragged elsewhere. The drop-down menu selects which
set of icons should appear in the window, but when you use it to select
something else, the window contents does not change and you are still selecting
from the old set of things.
These windows are used for tile palettes in CBDesign and piece and marker trays
in CBPlay
To reproduce what I'm talking about, run "wine CBPlay.exe GenericGame.gam" and
click on the 'A' toolbar button to bring up piece tray A. It will probably
show the Red army with a red piece in the tray. Use the menu in the top of the
tray to select 'Blue army' and it should switch to show a tray with a blue army
piece, but it does not, and if you drag the still visible red piece from the
tray to a board, that's what you'll get. There's no way to get a blue piece
out of the tray.
I've tried this with both 0.9.57 and cvs

Summary: Regression: No mouse cursor after minimize-restore in

When playing Uru: Complete Chronicles
(http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=4045), I have
the following problem:
After minimizing and restoring the game window, it doesn't get any mouse or key
events (in fact, I can't see any mouse at all). However, the game itself looks
the way it should and animations continue to move. It just doesn't react to my
input. All I can do is completely kill it. However, this used to work till wine
0.9.56, so it's obviously a regression.
I can't see any console message regarding that problem (I only get many many
"software rendering used as not all properties could be tracked" which is not
new). And I don't have any 3D desktop manager installed (the reason why I'm
saying this is that I had the same problem months ago when using compiz). I'm
using Kubuntu 7.10 and the Wine packages from http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/.
I haven't yet done a bisect, but I hope to have the necessary time next
weekend.

Using FBSD 6.3 Patched, and the latest Wine 0.9.56
Whenever you try to install a game via Steam in Wine, it immediately crashes
with this error:
X Error of failed request: GLXBadDrawable
Major opcode of failed request: 143 (GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 5 (X_GLXMakeCurrent)
Serial number of failed request: 217574
Current serial number in output stream: 217574
I'm pretty sure this isn't a driver problem, since it does it on a variety of
systems, nvidia and intel based, which of course are on completely different
drivers. I seem to recall this error occurring on Linux in the past as well,
does anybody know what the fix for it was?

Product: Wine

Platform: PC

Installing the latest iTunes (v7.6.1) works now (set windows version to vista),
but there is a bug that prevents mouse clicks from working properly.
If you left click on the menu, it will open the menu then immediately close it
again, as if you double clicked on the menu button.
It also won't always register left clicks on the context menu. For example
going from 'music' to 'itunes store' will fail if you just left click, a
workaround is right-clicking on itunes store first and then left click on
itunes store.

I'm running Ubuntu Feisty with Gnome as the window manager and X in 16-bit

While using the slideshow feature in Picasa 2.7, I noticed the slideshow no
longer have keyboard focus. One should be able to use the left and right arrow
keys to move between images, and the escape key to quit out of the slideshow.
With the latest version, that no longer happens. One has to click the mouse to
to give the slideshow focus.
