Do you still experience this problem? It's been a while.

The log from
WINEDEBUG=+reg,+msi,+text,+process,+relay,+module,+seh,+msidb ~/wine-git/wine
setup.exe
was too big to attach, so it's at

I just tried this. On the first run, I got
The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed.
but simply retrying got past that; there might be a race condition?
The next problem is it complains about MSIE 4 being required.
The interesting part of the log looks like:
err:msi:msi_get_dialog_record query failed for dialog
L"NIPaths.91D5760B_F9E8_4332_BFB1_38A4CB799A3E"
...

ret=004df617
...
err:msi:ACTION_CallDllFunction Custom action
(L"C:\\windows\\temp\\msi244e.tmp":L"NIPaths") caused a page fault: c0000005
...

trace:msi:MSI_GetPropertyW property L"IEDETECTED" not found
trace:msi:MSI_GetPropertyW property L"IEVERSIONNUMERIC" not found
...
"Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher is required."
I'll attach a log.

Does this bug still exist? It's been quiet for long...
If yes, could you run a regression test to find out what went wrong, please.
http://wiki.winehq.org/RegressionTesting
Or is it about new gcc/glibc versions as mentioned in Comment #5 ?

0.9.54 no longer have that problem. Black background (as in 0,0,0 in background
color field) has white cursor.

Here's how to replicate the bug mentioned in the description's first paragraph
in 0.9.54.
1. Dock project manager to top of main window.
2. Click form of project manager, right click the form to modify, choose
modify.
3. Close form.
4. Click form of project manager, right click the form to modify
5. Ta daaa, the list of forms disappears.
As for the second and third paragraph, I will post it as a new bug.

Hmm. Turns out the downloadable trial installer eventually
said that .net 2 installed ok, and what hadn't installed
successfully was msxml 6, just as this bug report said.
So I tried the patch A.F. pointed to. It doesn't apply cleanly today;
I'll attach a rediffed version. But even with that patch,
the installer says msxml 6 failed to install.

Perhaps +font,+xrender trace (compressed with 'bzip2 -9') could shed some
light on this.
