Summary: PanoramaStudio automatic Barrel/pincushion correction
fails on too many pipes
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.58.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: wine(a)zorglub.s.bawue.de
Hi,
as described under
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=11467
PanoramaStudio fails when doing the following:
1. Start PanoramaStudio
2. Import some photos
3. Click on "Parameters" -> "Lenscorrection
4. Check the automatism for Barrel/pincushion correction
5. OK, OK, OK...
6. Start the stitching
7. PanoramaStudio hangs by ~75% of the progress bar while estimating the focal
length (2nd pass).
The console shows with 0.9.46:
fixme:pager:PAGER_Create [0x2002e] Drag and Drop style is not implemented yet.
fixme:htmlhelp:HtmlHelpW HH case HH_INITIALIZE not handled.
fixme:commdlg:GetFileName95 Flags 0x00800000 not yet implemented
fixme:shell:ShellView_OnNotify LVN_KEYDOWN key=0x00000010
wine client error:108: pipe: Too many open files
And with 0.9.58:
fixme:spoolsv:serv_main (0 (nil))
err:service:service_get_status service protocol error - failed to read pipe r =
0 count = 0!
fixme:pager:PAGER_Create [0x20030] Drag and Drop style is not implemented yet.
fixme:htmlhelp:HtmlHelpW HH case HH_INITIALIZE not handled.
wine client error:10a: pipe: Too many open files
and in deed lsof shows 1010 pipes opened for the PanoramaStudio.exe process.
Using as well lsof, I found out that PanoStudio starts with 4 pipes and adds
120 (!) pipes after each round of Stitching (without automatic correction).
Don't if PanoStudio is the culprit or Wine; at least to know this would be
helpful.
More info: Ubuntu 7.10 with 0.9.46 package from Ubuntu, or 0.9.58 from WineHQ
(no difference).
PanoStudio can be used as shareware, so you can test, else I'm glad to help
solve the issue. And PanoStudio seems to be written with Delphi (strings x.exe
| grep -i delphi).
Thanks, Eric

The Updater for the Game works without UI, the loader seems to work... but when
it tries to load the main screen it crashes... i tried some changes with the
sound settings of wine, but hadn't success. The Crashlog of the game may be
also useful for you so i decided to send it and the wine terminal log.

The Format function (it gives format to numbers/strings/...) of Visual Basic 6
does not work properly under wine. If a number is negative, it is converted to
a positive number.
There is a similar function called FormatNumber (only for numbers) and it works
correctly.

Log from trying to install package
This bug stops all installations of packages using Windows Installer 3.1 in the
update.exe format. Unfortunately, more and more packages are coming this way.
The presentation to the end user is a windows dialog box with the message,
"Setup could not verify the integrity of the file Update.inf. Make sure the
Cryptographic service is running on this computer."
However, the log implies more than just that. See attached.

Summary: LookupAccountNameA returns Domain Size that is one byte
too big
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.49.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-advapi32
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: lehmannd(a)in.tum.de
When calling LookupAccountNameA in Windows, cbReferencedDomainName is set to
the number of characters in the string (e.g. for "DOMAIN" windows returns 6).
In my tests Wine always returned the string "DOMAIN" and the length 7.
I think the bug is in there because LookupAccountNameW is called internally but
that function is supposed to return the number of characters plus 1.
I confirmed the behaviour in Vista and Windows 2000.
I will try to fix it myself.

With yesterday's git, Magic III installs fine in an empty .wine directory,

Summary: Vanguard trees/leaves in face (billboard X axis not
locked?)
Product: Wine
Version: CVS/GIT
Platform: PC
OS/Version: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: directx-d3d
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: nospam(a)thenerdshow.com
When walking around in Vanguard SoH, the trees bend down toward you as you
approach and the leaves get stuck in your face, obscuring your view. This tends
to discourage exploration of and participation in heavily treed areas. Turning
down tree detail limits the issue to some extent, but it is still there. What
it looks like is some sort of billboarding glitch where the rotation axis is
either substituted or not being locked properly.
Todo: If I get time during my busy schedule, I may attempt to write a simple
test case for Windows based on the NeHe tutorials and trace it. If you have
more time/knowledge and can duplicate the problem, feel free. It does seem like
it might be a simple typo, but where?
