On my Ubuntu machine, this seems to only happen with corefonts installed. Without corefonts, there's no spinners, but the install text looks horrible. I got a "dispatch initialization error" from Shrinker, though in my case it was for the file "setup-32.exe." After a bit of research, I found this bug report. I downloaded the DeShrinker program, and used it to decompress the setup-32.exe file. That did get rid of that particular error message, but then I got one telling me that the program had to be installed from the original cd. So manually decompressing the file is not an option in this case. Or taller. A combo box could be placed above the tabs for selecting the application. Next to it an "Add" button which brings up a dialog box to add an app to the list.
