Summary: Launch Pad is weired
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.0
Platform: Other
OS/Version: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: critical
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: leo_zen(a)gmx.at
I have installed on my Ubuntu first Wine 1.0, then compiled manually 1.1.0.
Since I thought I could upgrade to 1.1.1, I have run the install instructions
as written on the Internet-page for Ubuntu. This time it worked, because
previously it failed to work due to some kind of key-sign-issue.
Now I experience the very annoying problem, that the path of a launched exe is
set relative to the user and not to the programm. e.g. the user is /home/user,
the game is located in /home/user/game/dir1. The programm now takes /home/user
as a home-path and scrambles now everything up. Especially for games this is
annyoing, cause in the games there is no possibility to change the path.
Since it worked prior to the upgrade via installer, I heavily suspect the
upgrade-package.

Regression. Happens since this commit:

kernel32: Forward interrupts in 32-bit code to winedos too.
Prior to this - Skype could be started in win9x mode (it doesn't work in
XP/2000 because of other bugs), then it would show "OLE error" message, but
afterwards would be perfectly usable. Now the app starts just like before, but
crashes after a few seconds of running. Attaching log

Summary: Photoshop CS2 menu z-order problem
Product: Wine
Version: CVS/GIT
Platform: Other
OS/Version: other
Status: NEW
Keywords: download
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-misc
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: dank(a)kegel.com
To reproduce:
- install and start photoshop cs2 (I used the trial)
- File / New to start a new image
- select a brush if needed
- click on color picker to change colors
- observe that menus (e.g. Filters) now pop up *under* the image window instead
of *over* like they should
This could be quite an annoying bug.
Observed in both 0.9.50 and 0.9.52 (haven't tried any others).
Does not affect Photoshop 7 or CS, only CS2.

Summary: Alsa uses plughw:0,0 instead of default

Created an attachment (id=9872)

use "default" as the default card name instead of "default:0"
When starting wine I get messages like:
ALSA lib conf.c:3949:(snd_config_expand) Unknown parameters 0
ALSA lib pcm.c:2144:(snd_pcm_open_noupdate) Unknown PCM default:0
ALSA lib conf.c:3949:(snd_config_expand) Unknown parameters 0
ALSA lib pcm.c:2144:(snd_pcm_open_noupdate) Unknown PCM default:0
this is caused by wine trying to use default:0 as sound device which doesn't
seem to be allowed according to
http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc/alsa-lib/pcm.html
Using plughw:0,0 also causes problems when people are using an dmix plugin to
allow sharing the input and output. As the dmix plugin uses the output in an
exclusive way. So it's eighter wine audio or dmix/alsa audio.
When using "default" instead of "default:0" the messages disappear and wine
uses the default path as defined in ~/.asoundrc

This error was mentioned in IRC back in september '07, so it's hit at least
one real user.
Incidentally I noticed a document that mentions this function,
http://hackersforge.com/smb-dce-rpc/win_net_srv.pdf,
and has interesting context that might be helpful to whoever implements it.
