Both FAV 6 and FTM 8 start out with the
app's main window only showing an inch of title
bar and nothing more. You have to resize the
window to see the app. It usually stays resized
on next startup, but sometimes reverts to the tiny size.

Terminal output with WINEDEBUG=warn+all
After the fix to create the directory "c:\windows\winsxs\manifests" included in
wine 0.9.44, the problems remaining in bug #9192 were related only just to the
failure to execute the file vcredist_x86.exe during the installation of Enemy
Territory Quake Wars Beta 2.
The installation popups an error window about "cannot execute
C:\\windows\temp\vcredist_x86.exe". That file exists but it was extracted into
the subfolder C:\\windows\temp\WZSE0.TMP\" instead of "C:\\windows\temp\" just
during the winzip self-extract. When the setup program tries to execute the
file vcredist_x86.exe, cannot find it in the correct path.
A workaround is to create a blind symbolic link in Linux BEFORE running the
installation program of Enemy Territory Quake Wars (ETQuakeWarsBeta2Setup.exe)
and after configuring wine to emulate XP:
cd ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/temp ; ln -s WZSE0.TMP/vcredist_x86.exe
This way vcredist_x86.exe is executed without errors during ETQWbeta2
installation, so that manual download and execution is not required anymore.
We need to find the difference with the Windows installation were, I suppose,
this error in the paths does not occur. Maybe, I guess, the current directory
(WZSE0.TMP) during the execution of setup.exe is assumed to be included in the
execution path.

Previously on wine 1.1.0 the game installed flawlessly.
Component: CD3 recommended

I have attached a log. I also get a similar error when I try to install Gothic
3 for example. I wonder if this affects multiple games.

When I try to install the game, the autorun says that there is no install text,
and it cannot run setup afterwards. I have been told to install msttcorefonts
and freefonts, this is already done and it has not solved the issue. I am not
sure about how to create the appropriate log to reproduce the issue. Tell me if
there is anything else you guys need to know.

With 0.9.61, it worked very well, but since upgrade, it crashes.
Maybe it's an audio problem : Winecfg crashes when I tested the sound in the
Audio Tag.

water to render, the water near your character or view is black. You can see
the water in the distance is correct, but as soon as you move to see it, it
turns black too. Screenshot attached.
