Tried typing a few words:
'This is a test'. Mouse cursor is next to test. Choose 'Review' tab, then click
'Thesaurus'. Brings up the 'Research' side panel, but no results. Setting to
unconfirmed since I can't remember exactly what Office does on XP, I'll test
tomorrow. I do know that test should have synonyms though ;-).

Summary: Using native comctl32.dll, file dialog box crashes when
viewing a directory with a file whose name contains
Chinese characters
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.4
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: markk(a)clara.co.uk
Created an attachment (id=15941)
--> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=15941)
Output on running wine notepad, then using File->Open, navigating to directory
When using the Windows native comctl32.dll, using the open file dialog box to
navigate to a directory which contains a file with a "strange" name (Chinese
characters) causes the program to crash.
Here is a hex dump (output of "ls" in the directory) of the specific file name
that caused the crash (the final 0x0a is not part of the file name):
00000000 57 57 20 43 35 31 30 20 2d 20 e8 be a6 e8 b1 8e |WW C510 - ......|
00000010 e6 ba 90 e5 ae 92 2e 6c 6e 6b 0a |.......lnk.|
0000001b
To reproduce this behaviour:
- Create a file with the above name.
- Use winetricks to install native comctl32.dll
- Use winecfg to override the built-in comctl32.dll if necessary
- wine notepad.exe
- Choose Open from the File menu and navigate to the directory where the file
is.
Attached is the console output resulting from doing that on my system. The
first line of the output, before an unhandled page fault message, is:
fixme:mlang:GetGlobalFontLinkObject

Yep, just tested. Works fine now. No overrides needed for the installer anymore
;-).

Summary: Zeus and Emperor display crash introduced in 1.1.3
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.4
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: danimothonline(a)gmail.com
-In 1.1.3 and after, if you try to start emperor which has a default resolution
of 640x480 full-screen then the game crashes immediately. The problem here is
full-screen display.
-If, however, you somehow have windowed display(e.g. from wine 1.1.2), then the
game functions fine, but you can never change the display to anything, windowed
or full-screen, or to any resolution, otherwise the game immediately crashes.

Setting to winsock, as there's no ws2_32 component.
