Summary: secur32 memory leak on exit?
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.32
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Keywords: download
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: secur32
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: dank(a)kegel.com
Valgrinding the chromium net_unittests (particularly, the ftp and http tests)
yields definite leak reports like this:
664 bytes in 1 blocks are definitely lost in loss record 864 of 968
at malloc (vg_replace_malloc.c:195)
by 0x101657FF: ???
...
by 0x100F0324: ???
by SECUR32_initSchannelSP (schannel.c:1376)
by SECUR32_initializeProviders (secur32.c:559)
by DllMain (secur32.c:1178)
This doesn't seem like a big deal, but it is a bit of a mystery,
since the DLL clearly tries to free that memory on unload.

With wine-1.1.32-260-gf222a16 and the download from abandonware-utopia.com,
launching INSTALL.EXE yields no behavior, and SIMCITY.EXE exhibits no behavior
after a prompt, so the problem is certainly still there.

With wine-1.1.32-260-gf222a16, just running KCPSM3.EXE yields a usage:
KCPSM3 v1.30. Ken Chapman (Xilinx-UK) 2005
The assembler for KCPSM3 Programmable State Machine
Program usage....
kcpsm3 <filename>[.psm]
...
Running KCPSM3.EXE uclock.psm yields:
KCPSM3 v1.30. Ken Chapman (Xilinx-UK) 2005
The assembler for KCPSM3 Programmable State Machine
PASS 1 - Reading input PSM file
;KCPSM3 Program - Real Time Clock with UART communication.
...
and a bunch of output files related to uclock, so I think it's safe to say that
this bug is fixed.

Adrian, I'm not trying to waste your time. People often forget they filed bugs,
or forget to check up on them. If there is 6 months of inactivity, I ask if
it's still a problem. It takes less than a minute to say yes or no, it's not a
huge time effort. Unfortunately, not all bugs are easy to fix, and so there is
a lack of activity. In your case, it seems that there may be an easy workaround
(setting x to 16-bit), but you've never said if that works or not. How can the
bug be fixed if you don't answer the questions asked?

And what's the value of the bugs that remain open?
After all, this bug will soon be 3 years old without any developer action ever.

How do you expect me to put a demo online without breaking the law?

Where do you think the problem is not clear?
Looking at comment #1, Vitaliy Margolen seems to understand the basic problem
is without further questions.
And looking at comment #9 you also seem to understand the basic problem.
For another bug in this game, I bought another copy of the game and sent it to
Dan Kegel. If you promise to work on fixing this bug I can also get you a copy.
