Service Pack 3 installation log
Starting from 1.1.5 and up to 1.1.11 service pack for MS Office 2003 can't be
installed with "err:msi:ready_media Cabinet not found:" error.
In 1.1.4 patching works.
Attaching a log, will do regression testing in a few days (as soon as my time
allows).
Speaking about workarounds, symlinking all .cab files from original Office 2003
distributive to $WINEPREFIX/drive_c/windows/Installer is working as one.
I believe it's related to bug 13590.

If I use an Office 2003 program with WINE, after I close the program wineserver
and the Office *.exe file are still running the background and start eating up
memory and CPU for no reason, causing the performance of my computer to be
inhibited. I keep having to go into the process list and ending these
processes manually. I know WINE is supposed to simulate the Windows
environment, but that part I could do without :) Specs are as follows:
OS: Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron
Wine version 1.1.8
Hardware: HP Pavilion dv600t laptop, Intel Core 2 Duo T5600 1.8ghz cpu, NVIDIA
GeForce Go 7400 graphics card, Intel 845GM chipset

Hi,
I've just upgraded WINE to 1.0.1 today and found out that DesignaKnit 7 won't
run anymore.
It previously worked fine with WINE 0.9.37.
WINEDEBUG=all log attached. A demo version can be downloaded here
<http://www.softbyte.co.uk/dkdemdl.htm> to reproduce the problem.
Thanks.

Summary: Provide vista-style symlinks for the profiles directory

Move the users profile directory from C:\Windows\Profiles\ to C:\Documents and
Settings\ or C:\Users\
C:\Windows\Profile is old legacy location for crappy legacy Windows 95.
In 2000 and XP it is in C:\Documents and Settings\
In Vista it is in C:\Users\
We should consider moving it and providing symlinks in all the old places,
especially when we are in "Vista mode". One possible worry is that if we
provide just normal symlinks, an old app might be confused by looking in all 3
folders.
