Summary: Rome Total War 1.5: Mouse movement at screen borders
does not cause desired behavior
Product: Wine
Version: 1.0-rc3
Platform: PC-x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: tjlyon(a)gmail.com
This happens with Rome Total War ver. 1.5 as installed from the Gold Edition
pack. It also happens in the Barbarian Invasion expansion.
On the campaign map, moving the mouse to the borders of the screen is supposed
to move the campaign map around. However, it only works when moving the mouse
to the top or to the left sides of the screen. It does nothing at the right or
bottom sides.
Similar behavior is experienced in the battle screens. Nothing happens when
moving the mouse to the right or bottom sides, when it is supposed to move or
rotate the view.
This might sound like not such a big deal, but for me it makes the battles
practically unplayable.

Excerpt from output with WINEDEBUG=font
I just updated Qimage (http://www.ddisoftware.com/qimage) to version 2009.209
and the UI displays with the wrong font. For some reason the Wine font engine
thinks that Arial Black is a better match for the requested font than Arial,
which is what the app asks for and what it gets with Windows.
If I physically delete the ariblk.ttf file, it will use Arial as desired.
It did this with the 1.1.14 version in my distro (Fedora 9 64-bit) and also
with 1.1.18 freshly compiled from source.

Console log with wine git
Eve online hangs from time to time for no apparent reason, one time it is while
moving stuff to cargo hold, other when i open transation window and other when
i try to fit my ship. I can't really reproduce it beside waiting for it to
crash.
Also wine doesnt throw proper backtrace, only that its starting debugger but
doesn't really do anything after that.

Summary: EQ2 Particle errors
Product: Wine

Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: P2
Component: directx-d3d
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: dhess31(a)comcast.net
In Everquest II, the particle effects do not draw correctly. Most of the time
they don't show up at all, however, occasionally they are drawn and the screen
look correct for a split second.
This actually causes some of the important game features to not function
correctly. Playing with any GFX setting doesn't seem to fix it, including the
setting of ComplexShaderDistance to -1.
Using Ubuntu 8.10 x86 with nvidia 177 drivers.

It seems that szFullPath is needed even for SHGFI_PIDL and
SHGFI_USEFILEATTRIBUTES flags combination (ZPS uses flags=0x20e18).
See attached patch which fixes this.

Console output
This bug appears randomly, non regarding for how long I have been playing the
game. At some point, the game crashes with the following main line in the
console output:
*** glibc detected *** H5_Game.exe: free(): invalid pointer: 0x78f4cab7 ***
I played the game previously under Ubuntu and the first releases after wine
1.0, and I do not remember the game crashing so often at the time. Hence this
might be a regression, but I do not remember a particular milestone however as
for when it began to crash. I tested this with the latest wine-git (1.1.13)
under Gentoo X64. The rest of the console output is attached.
