+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #8545 +++
I hadpowerdvd gives an error message when attempting to install (about 94%)
I had originally created the bug, because of the error above, now I am getting
this:
I did not get a setup error in version 0.9.46. (wasn't sure if I should submit
a new one for newer version) When I tried to play a dvd, I got The PowerDVD
DirectShow Decoder filters have not been installed correctly. I click okay and
get a disc with unsupported format in drive d:. Is this an unsupported format,
because of the above error? It does seem to work, except for that. I wonder if
I can install third party dvd decoder.

1) Running PES with fglrx drivers on r3xxx
Those are some reports after testing the free-downloadable demo of PES 2008
under wine.
The game installs well and runs if well configured as mentioned in Application
DB (briefly enabling "UseGLSL" and setting an audio engine), but it has some
problems in some hardware I think:
1) Running it with ATi fglrx drivers (free radeon ones aren't usable at all) on
my rv350 card (mobility radeon 9700) there are resolution errors (if I set it
to 640x480 the size is something like 400x450).
See attachment for a shot.
2) In some cards (nvidia from my tests) it freezes while loading some textures
(both in menus and/or in game) with these errors (tracked on low/medium/high
quality runs):
err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x7e8aee90 "d3d9_main.c: d3d9_cs"

Complete logs are attached.
A workaround to this problem is setting "OffscreenRenderingMode" Direct3D
setting to "fbo"
3) Using fbo OffscreenRenderingMode some scenes (Replays, Corners,
GoalKicks...) can't be seen using Medium or High quality (no problems using low
quality, instead). Durning these moments, in fact, I can see only a light-blue
screen with a small square in, showing a part of the game.
Some relevant (I think) logs are:
err:d3d:IWineD3DDeviceImpl_Reset Cannot change the back buffer format yet
err:x11settings:X11DRV_ChangeDisplaySettingsEx No matching mode
found(1280x800x32)! (XRandR)
err:d3d:state_colorwrite (WINED3DRS_COLORWRITEENABLE1/2/3,0,15,15) not yet
implemented. Missing of cap D3DPMISCCAPS_INDEPENDENTWRITEMASKS wasn't honored?

fixme:d3d_surface:read_from_framebuffer >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_ENUM
(0x500) from glReadPixels @ surface.c / 526
You can see the attached shot for understanding in a better way.
4) Freezes on closing: when exiting from PES the screen becomes black, but the
application doesn't terminate (it seems an audio problem, since util I kill the
process my sound-card emets a vibrant sound).
Sorry but I can't take a log...
6) Gamepads can't be used inside the game... Also if wine finds my pads (and
they works with other games [i.e. FIFA 08]), I can't use them in menus.
I don't know if this is a wine or PES bug btw...

wine rundll32 setupapi.dll,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 128
/usr/share/wine/wine.inf
to create a new $HOME/.wine dir. The first line of the messages in the console
window is:
wine: failed to update /<home>/.wine with
/usr/bin/../lib32/../share/wine/wine.inf: No such file or directory
It works - but is weird.
The folder $HOME/.wine is created also the subfolders.

Summary: Build Wine 1.1.23 from source fails on Red Hat WS 4.6
Product: Wine
Version: unspecified
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: critical
Priority: P2
Component: build-env
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: tom.dalton(a)eds.com
I tried to build Wine 1.1.23 from the wine-1.1.23.tar.bz source package.
'configure' and 'make depend' seemed to work ok. The regular 'make' then fails
when trying to build the dll .so files.
Looks like a bug in winegcc or winebuild, that isn't handling the resource file
parameters properly.

Summary: DirectInput axis mapping does not work
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.23
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: directx-dinput
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: simotsa(a)gmail.com
According to http://wiki.winehq.org/UsefulRegistryKeys, it is possible to map
axis by creating a registry key in HKCU\Software\Wine\DirectInput.
Using the following command,
WINEDEBUG="+dinput" wine program.exe 2>&1 | grep joydev_enum_device
I can obtain the name of my joystick, which is "USB Joystick USB
Joystick " in my case. I wanted to map axis 2 and 3 to axis 0 and 1.
So I tried adding the following key:
"USB Joystick USB Joystick "="rX,rY,X,Y,Rz,Z"
To verify where the mapping worked, I ran the following command:
WINEDEBUG="+dinput" wine program.exe 2>&1 | grep "changing axis"
and it returned:
changing axis 0 => 0
changing axis 1 => 1
changing axis 2 => 2
changing axis 3 => 3
changing axis 4 => 4
changing axis 5 => 5
In the other word, axis mapping does not work.

Summary: Single-Sign-On with authenticated RPCs won't work

ReportedBy: winesku(a)googlemail.com
CC: kai.blin(a)gmail.com
Single-Sign-On with authenticated RPC-Clients in a domain joined environment
won't work with Wine version 1.1.23. The culprit is the two latest changes to
ntlm.c which were at least in part based on wrong information given from my
side to Kai. The latest working version for this scenario is "2009-02-16
Alexandre Julliard secur32: Properly initialize the helper structure when... ".
If that version of the file is built together with Wine version 1.1.23, RPC
clients running under Wine using the ncacn_tcpip protocol sequence can
successfully authenticate against an RPC server on a Windows box. So if
possible, please revert this file to this version (the two latest changes made
by Kai were made because it took us a while to find out that rpc clients
running on Wine work only without "signing-and-sealing").

Summary: Dragon NaturallySpeaking text size cannot be changed

Product: Wine

Platform: PC

OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor

ReportedBy: susancragin(a)earthlink.net
Dragon NaturallySpeaking (all versions -- mine is 10 Standard) makes use of a
DictationBox to enter text.
The DictationBox's default text size is small and hard to read. The
DictationBox contains a tool to change the text size to any font available in
wine, but the tool does not work.
This tool never has worked, i.e., this is not a regression.
