Summary: After playing for about 5-10 minutes, Team Fortress 2
only responds on mouse movement
Product: Wine
Version: 1.0-rc5
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown

The main fixmes that appear during gameplay, with notes about their appearance
Team Fortress works fine for the first few minutes, but after that it becomes
slower and slower until finally the only way to see (or hear) the gameplay
continue is to constantly jiggle the mouse.
I'm not sure exactly what solves it, but *sometimes* (not always) restarting or
changing the wine version fixes it, though no matter if it's 0.9.59 or 1.0-rc5
it will eventually start again if I open the game again during the same
startup.
I have been playing TF2 perfectly under dx8.1 with graphics turned all the way
up (and res as high as possible, 1680x1050) and it has worked excellently with
no problems except for the server webpage at the first page when you choose a
server (it's just black).
Half Life 2 and the sequels still work just as fine.
I managed to capture the bug while outputting to a text file. I've attached a
text file of the main fixmes that appear at that time that seem to cause the
error (It's mainly lots of repeats and is ~81,000 lines long without cutting),
but the orginal will be attached too since it's only 6 MB.

If Wine is configured with virtual desktop, and run remotely using NXServer,
there are severe redraw errors. Running winecfg is enough.

Installing the QuarkXPress 7.31 demo works fine. However, trying to run it
fails with an error that seems centered around MSVCR80.dll. Installing it as
native does not work.

Summary: Half-Life and Blue Shift fail to start after upgrade

Output from wine'ing in 0.9.61
After upgrading to the 1.0 RC's, Half-Life (and Half-Life: Blue Shift) fail to
start.
When starting, the main menu background shows up for about five seconds, and
the user is then ejected back out of the game.
Running in the terminal shows a lot of err's and fixme's (like always), but no
recognizable crash message of any kind.
After downgrading to 0.9.61 Half-Life started just fine, leading me to believe
that this is a regression of sorts.
Also, since neither Half-Life nor Blue Shift would start, it's my guess that
none of the Half-Life GoldSrc-based games will start (including Opposing Force
and Decay) - therefore I'm rating it as a 'major' severity.
Attached is the output I get from running the game under Wine 0.9.61 (where it
works). It is exactly the same output as running it under Wine 1.0-RC4 (AFAIK).

After installing some Oberon Media games (Mr Big Shot and MindHabits are the
ones I currently know of), running the game fails with a stack overflow. You
get these as the last lines of output on the console:
err:ole:create_server class {00000507-0000-0010-8000-00aa006d2ea4} not
registered
err:ole:CoGetClassObject no class object {00000507-0000-0010-8000-00aa006d2ea4}

NOTE: You need to run the application exe directly from its install location
(not launch.exe) as there is an issue with the links from launch.exe that
prevent them running the game.
NOTE: A google search of 00000507-0000-0010-8000-00aa006d2ea4 shows up as
ADODB.Command.8.
