Summary: EVE Online Apocrypha - Audio not supported on FreeBSD
Product: Wine
Version: unspecified
Platform: PC
OS/Version: FreeBSD
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: milosz(a)sleeplessbeastie.eu
I am playing EVE using wine (FreeBSD).
I installed new client today and got "AUDIO NOT SUPPORTED" message.
Full message is:
"EVE requires CPU SSE support in order to play in-game audio. As your computer
hardware does not support SSE, in-game audio will be disabled"
This is strange because my cpu suports SSE.
I use wine version 1.1.16, I heard sound in introduction movie, but cannot
enable it in game.

The console spam that usually follows D3D8: Visual.ok is gone...finally. Thank
you D3D guys, thank you. My eyes and console are rejoicing.
Now it's down to two failures:
visual.c:887: Test failed: SRCALPHA on texture returned color 00800040,
expected bar
visual.c:894: Test failed: DSTALPHA on texture returned color 00808000,
expected foo
This is on my feisty VM.

The Crysis Warhead Installer seems to be extremely buggy. First off, you will
need to compile Wine with Attachment 12843 , then you will need a native
netapi32.dll. At that point, you can navigate the installer, but shortly before
copying files, it fails with the message "ERROR_FUNCTION_FAILED"

Themida false warning
Starting up the 'The Bat!' application causes suddenly an error (it don't let
it start) caused by a library inside 'The Bat!' called 'Themida'. This is to
protect the software against patches, cracking, debugging etc.
See URL: <http://www.oreans.com>.
This failure blocks the application to start.
The company behing 'The Bat!' -RITLabs SRL- is using this componets inside 'The
Bat!' since the v4.0.04.
My simple solutions was do override the 'thebat.exe' with a backup copy. Than
works like before. But in the past this message come again some time later
(weeks).

Oblivion has some rendering issues after applying the version two of the vertex
pipeline replacement patch.
The crosshair is garbled, the status/action bar is garbled and the menu is
broken. I don't know if they have the same source of the problem.
Tried with wine-1.1.7-106-g38815e1 + vertex pipeline replacement patch.
