Previous remark about still failing was my own fault: I'd set up the
installation floppy images incorrectly.
Installation of VB3.0 under Wine now (version 1.1.27, may well be on earlier
ones, too) works fine. For what it's worth, the program also seems to run fine
under 1.1.28.

The back trace
Not much to describe it needed the mcf42.dll so I pasted it in the system
folder and it will not start it just gives me the program crashed window and i
can retrieve the backup. I am trying to install the Adobe CS2 Premium and I
have the options of installing the programs individually/manually but I do not
have the serial key for them so this is very urgent attached is the back trace.

The d3d9 and d3d8 testsuites crash since wine-1.1.27.
My crash backtrace is similar to those in
test.winehq.org "WinXP-AMD2600-1.1.27" (submitted by somebody else):

During bisect, 357ea123d909639991d2007e9e18a1f115a8b29e and
f6cc091d75faa2d30edadfcd0fced223c7a988f1 crashed for another reason
(shader_arb) in stateblock.c.
Funnily, some 3D applications are unaffected.

If you click on Community in the Steam main window, and enter your username and
password Steam crashes after a few seconds. This is a new and didn't happen in

This should be fixed by 80f02b82d68902f32578a7bcf6cfbaa715b724ce

). This makes mshtml use wininet, which already supports the http_proxy
environment variable, in addition to the registry override.
