screen shot of blank help panel
The Help panel that can be accessed via Help --> How To... appears blank in
both Acrobat Pro 7 and Acrobat Reader 7.
This bug is different from bug 11847 in the following way:
In Acrobat 6, the window appears with all the expected contents, but clicking
on any content topic produces a blank screen. In this case, with Acrobat 7, the
help window is blank to start with.

Summary: Orienteering Organizer stucks when opening file from
remote directory (cifs or sshfs)
Product: Wine
Version: CVS/GIT
Platform: PC
URL: http://www.orienteeringorganiser.com/main_e.php?page=dow
nload_e.php
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: petr.dlouhy(a)email.cz
This is larger problem than it seems, because it is blocking usage of
Orienteering Organizer in network mode, which is needed to organize
orienteering competition.
Steps, which will lead to reproduce the bug:
-mount empty folder from remote computer to folder on local computer (I
whitnessed the problem at least with cifs and sshfs; but when the folder is
local, there is no problem)
-winecfg → drives → add the mounted folder as "D:" (This should be done to
run OOrg in network mode)
-install BDE (it is needed to run OOrg, and can be downloaded on the same
place)
-install Orienteering Organizer
-copy one of the files (sample data) from "~/.wine/drive_c/Program
Files/Orienteering Organiser 10/Templates/Data" into the mounted directory
run Orienteering organizer
open the file "D:"
-Orienteering Organizer will stuck not opening the file, and sometimes will
show some weird errors "Access violation at address 0040302A8 in module
'Oorg.exe'. Read of address FFFFFFFF." or "Insufficient disk scape." or
"Invalid pointer operation" or "Runtime error 216 at 000032A4" (some of them
are shown when I try to close OOrg).

Summary: Minimize to tray broken - NoteTab
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.59.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: earther(a)eartherdesigns.com
Ubuntu Gutsy, Gnome and wine-0.9.59
Regression - NoteTab works pretty well in wine-0.9.58 (a few minor quirks)
Problem:
When NoteTab is launched, it only appears on the panel while loading. After
loading, it is nowhere to be seen on the panel. This makes it impossible to
minimize/maximize. If it is minimized from the application bar, it disappears
and there is no way to get it back. The process needs to be killed.
Photoshop and a few other Windows apps do not have this problem with
wine-0.9.59.
Testing:
Last night I installed wine-0.9.59 and NoteTab Pro 5.61 on a fresh install of
Ubuntu Gutsy on an old Dell and on Xubuntu Gutsy in Virtual Box.
Wine/NoteTab on the fresh install of Ubuntu produced the same bug which I
observed on three other Gutsy installs I tested including my new working box.
Several other NoteTab users also reported this bug on the NoteTab Linux list.
The shade format of XFCE handled minimizing NoteTab just fine. It has been
reported on the NoteTab Linux list, that it also works with KDE and XFCE on
Slackware.
I thought it might be related to Compiz that is running on my new machine but
since the bug also appeared on the old Dell that doesn't seem to be the case.
The bug seems to be Gnome specific.
NoteTab author, Eric Fookes also posted these comments which might be helpful
in correcting it:
"I suspect these issues affect any application that was compiled with Borland
Delphi. I very much doubt that NoteTab is the only application affected.
"Unlike programs created with other compilers, Delphi programs use an invisible
application window and a main application form that is the visible part of the
program. The Wine developers need to take this special approach into account if
they want their product to work correctly with all Delphi applications."
I searched and found several other possibly related bugs But wanted to report
the Gnome specificity and also the comments about Borland Delphi.
I have rolled back to wine-0.9.58 for the moment.

When batch processing many images, a progress bar sometimes appears. If i use
compiz and place the main Photoshop window into another viewport (for it to
stay unnoticed), the progress bar always appears in the active viewport and
becomes the active window, which is very irritating.

Somewhere after Wine 0.9.53 playback in Windows Media Player is broken: it
plays for a few seconds then stops. Using native quartz/devenum has no effect.
I'll do a regression test.

Summary: Homeworld: sound broken usually [regression]
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.56.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: miken700(a)yahoo.com
Usually when starting up Homeworld v1.05, the sound will not work, but not
always. Works fine under Wine 0.9.53.
When it doesn't work it's broken from the very beginning. At the Sierra intro
movie, it will not have any sound. Then there will not be any sound throughout
the running of the program. There are no other noticeable issues during play.
But also when this happens upon a normal exit of the app via its menu system it
will normally (always?) hang in the console window after it closes its
application window. In the few cases when there is sound upon startup exiting
normally does not hang.
Choosing different audio drivers in winecfg seem to have any affect.
Running 'wineboot -s' or 'wineserver -k' doesn't seem to help either.
For a while it seemed like switching the default settings Windows Version in
winecfg back between 'Windows XP' and 'Windows 2000' would help, but usually
not. Probably just a coincidence though, as sometimes it will run fine anyway
and it certainly doesn't work every time.
Tested on the latest git version (wine-0.9.56-264-g848383a), broken there as
well as the release version (from gentoo distro wine-0.9.56).

Summary: wpkg doesn't seem to work
Product: Wine
Version: CVS/GIT
Platform: Other
URL: http://wpkg.org/WPKG_with_Wine
OS/Version: other
Status: NEW
Keywords: Installer
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: msxml3
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: dank(a)kegel.com
wpkg is an interesting looking unattended
installation system for windows apps, said
to work on wine as long as you have ie6,
so I tried it without.
To work around bug 5541, you have to redirect the output of cscript.
Here's the recipe:
rm -rf .wine
winetricks vcrun6 wsh56
wget http://wpkg.org/files/stable/wpkg-0.9.10.tar.bz2
tar -xjvf wpkg-0.9.10.tar.bz2
cd wpkg-0.9.10
wine cscript wpkg.js /synchronize /debug | cat
This fails because of an msxml problem.
