Looks like bug 3997 might have an ugly cousin. Trying to test bug 4571, the
installer prompt is hidden. Works fine in virtual desktop.
Nothing useful in the terminal. +win,+x11drv attached

I looked into this app because it was mentioned today in:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-software-2/what-programs-woul…
It installed fine, although it couldn't install its kernel driver:
fixme:setupapi:SetupDiGetINFClassA "C:\\Program Files\\AlcaTech\\BPM-Studio
Demo\\\\Drivers\\Kernel\\mmrtkrnl.inf" 0x7d9688b8 0x7d968898 32 (nil)
The app also seems to run ok. The main hitch seems to be a dialog
that comes up on first run saying "Searching..." which takes forever;
fortunately, you can cancel that.
The first thing I tried to do was play a .wav file. That crashed
with an uninformative backtrace. Happily, turning on +relay,+seh
caused it to magically give a much more readable backtrace:

I'll attach the .wav file in question, just in case. I doubt it matters much.

You have to run this on a machine with SSE2 instructions,
or the app will simply abort with a dialog saying they're required.
You also have to set the windows version to 2003.
The installer fails on the first run. Rerunning it seems to
let it succeed. Looking at the log of the first run, I see
0038:Call advapi32.RegQueryValueExA(00000140,1003c014

I don't quite get what's going on, but it's quite repeatable.
This is with today's git, wine-0.9.55-gfd67f32
A full log is 200MB compressed with gzip.
The interesting bit is only 7MB uncompressed, 200KB compressed with rzip,
so I'll attach that.

Titan's quest crash window
To reproduce it, you just have to launch Titan Poker and close it.
I join the crash window (I'd presume it's more the fault of a Titan's
developper, but I'm not sure they'd do anything for the Linux platform)

source of a unittest exhibiting the problem with InternetQueryDataAvailable
NAVIGON Fresh checks at the navigon web server if the local version is the
newes one. The fails currently on wine because the InternetQueryDataAvailable
fail. NAVIGON Fresh expects the call to succeed and retries it, until it does,
which never happend one wine (endless loop).
In the attachment is the source of a wine unittest with the relevant calls to
the wininet dll. The unit test succeeds one WinXP (after removing the file
urlcache.c because of the missing export GetDiskInfoA) but fails on wine.

Summary: Team Fortress 2 launched from within steam loads, but
crashes when launching any map
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.13
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: critical
Priority: P1
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: zacharyjwelch(a)gmail.com
fully updated: Linux hostname 2.6.27-9-generic #1 SMP Thu Nov 20 21:57:00 UTC
2008 i686 GNU/Linux
Downloaded latest version of Steam YESTERDAY (1/19/09) from
www.steampowered.com and used it to download and update the latest release of
TF2 from my orangebox purchase.
The game launches from steam properly (after some tweaking) and i can see all
the main menu options, click and do.
However, when i "find servers" and choose a server to connect to, after I get
the familiar loading screen as all content is downloaded locally for the
server, it gets about 2/3 done loading and crashes. (TF2 not steam) with a pop
up error window saying:
Engine Error
CAudioSourceMemWave (****\***********.wav); GetDataPointer() failed.
where *\*.wav is any random directory and _.wav depending on which map is
trying to load. I tried it about 6 times and each time it was a different file
in a different location. The files are present in those locations however.
Also, after clicking "OK" on the error, clicking on my gnome system bar makes
it disappear, flash, both or crash the PC. depends how he gods of wine feel
that day.
I was unable to "Disable audio" in any manor that solved this.
I did add the following "registry" entires after the initial install per the
following thread:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=587780
and I reduced all the graphical options to minimum per suggestions in
debugging. This looks very much like a sound issue, so here's my sound config:
$sudo lspci|grep audio
05:06.0 Multimedia audio controller: Creative Labs SB Audigy (rev 04)
In my wineconf I have ALSA and OSS active and seem to have no other problem
with other applications (have WoW, Digsby, Ventrilo installed currently) except
some mic issues with vent.
Since steam is loaded from an icon in my wine menu that I added there is no
command window ouput. And at the moment I cant do anything else because my PC
is crashing as a result of all this....(which is why I chose "critical" status)
To be continued....
