Well, applying the 1.1.44 patch to wine 1.2 works flawless in Linux (tested myself), but it doesn't means that it couldn't fail in other operating systems. Did you tried some other older patched wine versions? After playing any of the games for an hour, i found out i ran out of hard disk space. I found .xsession-errors file is of 40GB size!!! Is there any way to stop these application (NFS, Warcraft. etc.) from writing to .xsession-errors file. I am attaching part of .xsession-errors file.
