> its not even a driver bug anymore or what?
It can't be a driver bug. It happens with both Mesa (r300) and fglrx.

Summary: ~/.xsession-errors filling with "fixme:tapi" messages
Product: Wine
Version: 1.3.1
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: jason.whipp(a)gmail.com
Running Zultys MXIE (a phone client to Zultys phone systems) I am seeing this
message repeating over and over (to a tune of thousands of times) while MXIE is
running:
fixme:tapi:lineGetDevCapsA (0x16ef128, 000229c2, 00020002, 00000000,
0x1a0d750): stub.
fixme:tapi:lineNegotiateAPIVersion (0x16ef128, 141763, 65540, 131074,
0x1a0e81c, 0x1a0e800): stub.
Wasn't seeing this previous to 1.3.1 running Zultys MXIE client, but since the
.xsessions-errors file was never an issue before, I've never looked. This is a
major problem as an average session of mxie will make for a 4 gig
.xsession-errors file.
As a work around, I've changed my ~/.xsession-errors to a symlink to /dev/null.

Problem is that configure script expects conftest to be linked with:

Where on Virtualbox host with Guest Additions it's linked with:
VBoxOGL.so => /usr/lib/VBoxOGL.so
Configure script should be probably changed like this:

still getting this mistake... something may has changed in wine and so this is
back again. I've tried everything to make ACAD 2000 work, but without success.
my font appears to be too large, and it didn't change at all when I replaced
the .wine/dirve_c/windows/Fonts folder (which, btw, was empty :S) with the
Windows Fonts folder.
I really need to get this software to work, and I don't want to switch to
windows :S
any help??

D3DXCheckTextureRequirements hack
The game here exits after a failing call to D3DXCheckTextureRequirements
(because of a CheckDeviceFormat with D3DFMT_R8G8B8). The attached patch (it's
really a hack) makes the game start, but with some important bugs: images
appear just in the upper left corner of the screen, no mouse pointer and
missing buttons. From the +d3dx log the likely culprits are buggy/incomplete
ID3DXFont and ID3DXSprite implementations (and maybe also something to do with
the d3dx texture functions).
As a workaround, native d3dx9_36 allows to play the game without issues, as far
as I can see.

ok, I tested emule and babas on wine 1.1.26, 1.1.41 and 1.3.4. On all versions
I observed the same behavior. I own core 2 duo e5300 and ubuntu maverick 32
bits. So I think there is no a regression, and the main bug was never fixed.
emule around 0-10 KB/s download rate - cpu 10%
emule around 100 KB/s download rate - cpu 50%
babaschess - cpu 20%
Opening dialog box reduces cpu consumption considerably.
emule preferences dialog open around 0-10 KB/s download rate - cpu 10%

babaschess preferences dialog open - cpu 2%

I am suffering this bug on emule (40-80% cpu) and babaschess 4 (20%cpu).
Opening options dialog reduces the cpu considerable on emule and to 2% on
babaschess.
Bug #22447 seems the same as this.
