Game console output
Wolfenstein 2009 installs vcrun2005 and d3dx9 by default. I removed these
programs from the setup to test the implementation of these components in WINE.
The game crashes when attempting to load. I get outputs from the shell and the
game console, they are attached below.
Gentoo Linux X64
Nvidia 8800 GT, drivers 260.19.12
wine-1.3.5-168-gd4e8f30

Wine 1.1 doesn't allow Eve to open a Direct3D window, it always comes up
fullscreen at first. Flipping the ingame setting to fullscreen and back to
windowed works but places the window down and to the right of the initial
specified position.
Re-installing Wine 1.0 fixed the issue.
I've only tried Eve-Online.

Attempt to login. Nearly same output if i quit the application at that point.
The client quits without a exception or extra output, after typing in any email
address. There are no errors or output.
In windows the password step would come next, and after that the account check
with the server.
The login window is written in flash, it utilizes Scaleform gfx.

Summary: Fable: The Lost Chapters can't play video
Product: Wine
Version: 1.3.5
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: quartz
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: dank(a)kegel.com
On launch, it hung in the splash screen, and the log showed
err:module:import_dll Library msvcrt.dll (which is needed by
L"C:\\windows\\system32\\msvcr71.dll") not found
err:module:import_dll Library MSVCRT.dll (which is needed by
L"C:\\windows\\system32\\MFC42.DLL") not found
err:module:import_dll Library MFC42.DLL (which is needed by
L"C:\\users\\dank\\Temp\\DW210f4.tmp") not found
I worked around that with 'winetricks vcrun6'.
The game then started up and was somewhat playable.
On startup, the game complained
"Unable to play video."
You could click past it, but it was still annoying.
I worked around that with 'winetricks wmp9 quartz devenum'.
Even if we have to install wmp, it'd be nice if wine's quartz
and devenum were up to the task...

terminal output
The game becomes unresponsive after I launched a singleplayer game. Both the
demo and the retail version are affected. The game doesn't hang in Wine-1.3.8.
How to reproduce the issue in the demo:
1) you will need 'winetricks d3dx9_36 dsoundbug9612' before launching the game.
2) In the main menu click on single player, then choose a nation on the map and
click on <PLAY>. The map will be loaded but the game becomes unresponsive
instantly after that.
Result of the regression test:

Reverting the patch on top of wine-1.3.8-204-g24d2f69 was successful and that
fixed the issue.
On a side note this is the commit which made the music work in the game, using
the built-in quartz.dll (at least in the main menu).

Terminal output
Making moves is incredibly sluggish, everything is very slow.
>From the official website support:
"Why is the piece movement slow? Why is there a delay when I make a move on the
board?
BabasChess uses a double-buffering technique to draw the board without
flickering; unfortunately, on a few video cards this technique determines a
slow board redraw (delays when moving a piece or between the end of the piece
movement and the subsequent board update). This problem can be usually fixed as
follows: 1) open the Windows Display Properties (right click on your desktop
and select "Properties"), 2) select the "Settings" tab (where you can change
the screen resolution, color quality, ...), 3) press the "Advanced" button, 4)
select the "Troubleshoot" (or "Performance") tab and 5) decrease the hardware
acceleration by one step."
No way to do something similar in wine.
Propriety nvidia drivers are installed.

Summary: Mirror's Edge crashes when loading the first mission
Product: Wine
Version: 1.3.10
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown

Mirror's Edge crashes when loading the first mission that occurs after
training. Training works fine, but an XIO error crashes the game after loading
the first mission:
XIO: fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server ":0"
after 2129 requests (2129 known processed) with 0 events remaining.
I'm launching from Steam. I attempted to bisect and tested 1.3.0, 1.3.5,
1.3.10, and today's HEAD, 12880784fe, but all of these produce the same
results. I didn't go back further because my understanding is that if I go back
much further Steam won't work anymore.
I am using nvidia 260.19.29, GeForce GTX 285, Linux 2.6.36.2.
Let me know what WINEDEBUG flags to use and I'll post logs. This may be the
same as bug 23055.
