Note; this does not require vm86 to test, just the files are packed with a dos program - unpacked with dosbox. Looking at the +all log, GetSystemPaletteEntries returns 0, which I now see that Louis pointed at earlier, which I missed. The reason for this appears to be that in x11drv palette_size is 0, when I am running X at 24bpp. This appears to be correct. As per comment 14, the game requires the correct colour depth on Windows to run. Comment 16 shows that the game starts when X is set to the correct depth also.
