Broken again because of changes in GetObject(), returning always positive
height even for topdown dibs.
If you get vertically mirrored images, now you know why :-)

Hello,
there is nothing to fix here.
The XP versions of Microsoft Jet 4.0 installers won't work by design.
Because Wine always returns Service Pack level 3 in XP mode, the updater will
refuse to install -> "no need to update".
Install Microsoft Jet 4.0 SP8 the preferred way using 'winetricks' (which uses
the NT4/2K versions of Microsoft Jet installers).

It would be useful to know which parts of the diff are needed to fix this bug.
If nothing else, they should give a hint about the real problem.

Patch that allows equations to be open, edited and saved
I found a legal way to make Equation Editor work in Office 2003. I took freely
available crossover-games sources and compared ole32 sources with plain Wine
sources. If the obtained patch is applied to Wine-1.1.40 or the latest git,
equations can be open (although in a separate window!) and inserted back into a
document. Perhaps somebody (from CodeVeawers?) can turn it into a permanent
solution.

I have installed Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri on latest git version, and tried to
run the game in two ways:
1) Choose to run the game after installation in the install dialog. This got
the game working well enough to let me get bitten by the already known bugs.
2) Typing wine "C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Alpha
Centauri\terran.exe" in a shell. This causes the screen to change mode, and
then change back. After that, wine exits and nothing more happens.

That's broken. The whole idea about selecting individual device to get more
events comparing to _all_ devices and not getting all events is wrong.
Besides there is seems to be no way to actually get the mouse device ID. There
are always some other stuff that has nothing to do with mouse:
Virtual core pointer id=2 [master pointer (3)]
Virtual core XTEST pointer id=4 [slave pointer (2)]
Logitech USB Gaming Mouse id=7 [slave pointer (2)]
Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000 id=8 [slave pointer (2)]

That's more or less by design. If you want raw events you should select them on
the individual slaves. It would probably be better if master devices didn't
send raw events at all to avoid confusing people though. (Fwiw, I do have some
partial XI2 patches as well, but they have some issues still.)

Wine's makefiles are pretty excellent, and even though make depend is
recommended, in practice, it's rarely needed, since make will call it if it is
needed.
On OpenBSD 4.6, I ran configure and make, forgetting that make depend is
needed. It failed, but after running make depend then make, it compiled fine.
This worked last I tried on FreeBSD, so is hopefully doable for OpenBSD as
well...
FWIW, here's OpenBSD's man page:

RealBasic is a programming language + api + ide.
http://www.realsoftware.com/realbasic/
It is used to develop the PalaceChat application, that works almost fine under
wine, except for it TextAreas.
Any text retrived in TextArea object by .text returns exactly the half of the
real inputed content. I asked developer for Wine suport, and he gave a lot of
fixes in his application, but this one have notting to do with his programming,
althought there is a code workaround.
In the attachment, there is an application that demonstrates the bug itself,
and it workaround.
The first button get text trought .text and the other is a .seltext workaround
though kind of a ugly one since it will have to physically select the text and
copy its selection to a temperary string (selstart sellength then use seltext).
The expected behavior is obviously to have full text shown in the dialog by the
.text property.
I hope we made easy your life fixing this bug.
Thank you for the attention and work.
