Output of strace -p <wineserver pid>
When I run Wine for the first time on this computer (by running winefile f.e.),
it always hangs the first time and I can't kill this process.
The second time I run it then however, it works without any problems. I have
this even after starting over with a fresh .wine and on both Ubuntu Dapper &
Hardy with all recent Wine versions as far as I can remember.
I suspect it is related to my hardware in some way. I've attached the output of
strace -p on the wineserver pid. strace -p on the first wine-pthread pid
doesn't give anything.

Games loads up and will only show the mouse, the rest of the screen is either
black with occasional large blocky squares. Game does not crash.
I have tested this with 'Spore' and 'CNC3: Tiberium Wars'.
Previously CNC3 worked for me fine less mouse. I tested around wine 1.0

I'm using Fedora 11 32 bit and Wine 1.1.32 compiled on gcc (GCC) 4.4.1 20090725
(Red Hat 4.4.1-2)
Steps to reproduce:
1) install Warcraft III
2) download quartz.dll and override it to native (otherwise movie will play
only once)
3) start Warcraft III
4) navigate to movie from campaign of orcs and watch that movie
5) return to main menu properly or return to main menu with black screen and
only sound or application crashes
This is an regression because this didn't happen on Wine 1.1.31
I did regression test but that won't gave anything useful, because Wine
randomly works good or bad.

Summary: Shin Megami Tensei Online: Imagine errors out

Shin Megami Tensei Online, as the name suggests, is an MMORPG, and a Japanese
one at that. It's one of those free-to-play types, with optional real-world
payment for certain items.
Many things work flawlessly -- installation, upgrading, and the like, but it's
when one actually tries to play that problems arise.
As you can see by the screenshot, a few moments after starting the game, a
message box pops up; clicking OK shuts down the program. Although the boxes
visible in the screenshot are rather less than enlightening, I was able to grab
the actual error message through an error log created by the program:
(1.163)例外エラーが発生しました(10009)[19,81,14]。真・女神転生Imagineを終了します。
...or, in English, "(1.163) An exception error has occurred (10009)[19,81,14] -
Imagine's Shin Megami Tensei Online will now close -"
Oddly, running the program on a computer that's under a heavy load (by, say,
using a 'noisy' WINEDEBUG setting) lets one actually get in-game... but the
error still eventually occurs, but with different numbers after the 10009.
Also odd is that turning off Vertex Shader Support in winecfg stops the error
from happening altogether. However, this disables 3D graphics, which makes the
game a little hard to play. ;)
(A warning for those who want to duplicate the error: it requires the
downloading of a couple of gigs of data, first to install, and then to update;
you'll also need the ability to input Japanese text through an IME if you want
to get past the character creation screen. The error still happens in the
latter case, however.)

it would snap back to its original location when I release the mouse.

A lot of self-extracting archives let you specify where to extract the files.
This is the case for the CineBench R10 installer which is in fact a 7-zip
self-extracting archive. If you click on the [...] button you get a dialog
where you get to select the destination directory.
In this dialog you also have a 'Create New Folder' button (most likely
IDS_NEWFOLDER from dlls/comdlg/cdlg_En.rc). However this button has no effect.
You can get the CineBench R10 installer from the URL below to reproduce this:
http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1708
The bug is probably somewhere in dlls/comdlg/filedlg.c.

Summary: Rome Total War 1.5: Mouse movement at screen borders
does not cause desired behavior
Product: Wine
Version: 1.0-rc3
Platform: PC-x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: tjlyon(a)gmail.com
This happens with Rome Total War ver. 1.5 as installed from the Gold Edition
pack. It also happens in the Barbarian Invasion expansion.
On the campaign map, moving the mouse to the borders of the screen is supposed
to move the campaign map around. However, it only works when moving the mouse
to the top or to the left sides of the screen. It does nothing at the right or
bottom sides.
Similar behavior is experienced in the battle screens. Nothing happens when
moving the mouse to the right or bottom sides, when it is supposed to move or
rotate the view.
This might sound like not such a big deal, but for me it makes the battles
practically unplayable.

Summary: Spore, Sims 3: Only sound and cursor, no graphics,
with intel cards
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.23
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: pamarca(a)gmail.com
Spore and the sims 3 can be installed and loaded on computers with intel
graphic cards, however, they only show a black screen with the cursor, and
sounds. Playing around with the cursor and clicking shows that one can interact
with the menus, but there is no graphical output besides the cursor. I know,
though I havent tested it myself, that these games can be played in windows
with the same hardware.
I know Intel drivers haven't worked very good for some time now, but the latest
versions can handle native linux games like nexuiz and openarena very well.
What is it then, that doesnt allow this games to be properly displayed with
wine? Is it a wine problem, or is it the intel drivers that dont support
certain technologies that are needed?
My testing computer is an hp pavilion dv2000 with ~2500 mb RAM, an intel dual
core proccessor, and the video card appears listed as Mobile GM965/GL960
Integrated Graphics Controller. Though, I think this problem should be common
to many more games and intel cards.
I selected the wine version as 1.1.23, but I have used every version since
1.1.10 with the same result.
