This is annoying me:
configure: libXxf86vm development files not found, XFree86 Vidmode won't be
supported.
configure: libv4l development files not found.
configure: libmpg123 development files not found (or too old), mp3 codec won't
be supported.
The dev libs and headers are there. The libXxf86vm is from the squeeze
packaage. Is there any way to get more information from configure about these
complaints?
I'm using Lenny btw.

It looks like a different installer:
f2b0fa6dbdf6e858806e58fdf6ae6b82 AvrStudio4Setup.exe
Plus I applied service pack 1. That might just be chip data though.
Also, I just noticed that some of the simulators can be selected without
crashing. Avr simulator 1 and 2 as well as ice40 and ice 50 are the ones that
cause a crash the rest can be selected and the compatible devices show up as
expected.

Update it with 'git fetch'. Actually this crash should be fixed with yesterday
tip as well. Do we try the same installer?

Well I cloned the repository, so how would I specify wine-1.1.40-191-g4b5f6ad
to be built?

I can't crash it that way on wine-1.1.40-191-g4b5f6ad. It crashes in mfc42
instead.
I tried a version from link:
md5 752a15334944bc940fa6b0b4006d093c aStudio4.exe

I un-installed wine with dselect, before I did make install from the build.
The only thing dselect reports as installed is gecko 1.0.0
wine --version reports: wine-1.1.40-122-g693c991
I did fresh retry with avrstudio and got this:
Backtrace:

This can't happen with current git. I changed it to always use srclen = -1. So
or you're using an old wine setup (from package and not what you've built), or
you've built a tagged release 1.1.40 and not a tip. Uninstall Debian Wine
package and try again. Also check 'wine --version' output.

Log of new build from start to crash
Here the log of my new build. It seems to do the same thing as the packaged
build.
