Summary: Copy and pasting between Office 2003 apps and Linux
apps not working well
Product: Wine
Version: 1.2-rc3
Platform: x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: dandrejvv(a)gmail.com
Hi
When working with the various MS Office (2003) apps, the copy and pasting
functionality seems to work well. I tested by just typing some text in Word,
Excel and Powerpoint and copying it among each other (that is right click->copy
and Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V). This seems fine.
But now I type something in Thunderbird (mail client) or Open Office's apps and
try to copy paste into the MS Office apps. MS Word seems to be happy with all
the copy and pasting from other apps. I got MS Word to accept and present text
to Thunderbird, OO Text writer, Presenter and Spreadsheet. However, I couldn't
right click and go Copy, I had to Ctrl+C.
MS Excel and Powerpoint wasn't so forgiving. Excel pops up with a message
saying that it couldn't copy the text (that is taking text from a linux app
into Excel) and Powerpoint just did nothing besides the split second freeze).
So far only MS Word and Excel can copy text to Linux apps it seems.
It would be great if all the copy/paste with Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V and Right
click->Copy/Right click->Paste worked.
