Summary: no way to disable font smoothing
Product: Wine
Version: 1.2-rc1
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: s.zuban(a)gmail.com
Starting from 1.2-rc1 fonts smoothing enabled by default, but I wasn't able to
disable it even after setting the following:
[CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop]
FontSmoothing=0
FontSmoothingType=0
I was able to disable smoothing by commenting this in /etc/fonts/local.conf
<match target="font">
<edit name="rgba" mode="assign">
<const>rgb</const>
</edit>
</match>
But starting from 1.2-rc2 even this trick doesn't allow to disable smoothing.

Terminal output during application execution
When cars are added to a train, the train will never arrive at the destination
station (without cars attached, the train does arrive).
Although the train doesn't move anymore, the GUI still reports its speed at
4mph. The simulation keeps on going and you can play the game normally (except,
as noted, no train will ever arrive).
Terminal output attached.

wine log when VirtualDub freezes
In latest vdub 1.9.9 I can't select compression codec because the main window
becomes unresponsive, it just freezes.
Running vdub from the command line gives me more infos about what goes wrong,
it complains about some unimplemented function related to msvcr80.dll (see the
log).
Anyway, I worked it around installing "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1
Redistributable Package (x86)"
(http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=200B2FD9-AE1A-4A14…)
which provides the complete official set of libraries but is this expected? Or
should wine itself provide these features?

The patcher runs after the installer completes. The dialogs are blank, and
there's not a telling sign in the terminal when it shows. Most output is
mshtml/shdocvw, so I tried native ie6, and the error dialogs went away.

Terminal output with latest Git.
There is a certain room in Alien Missions in Anarchy Online that crashes the
client in Wine every time. I cannot log back in again either - a Windows user
must log in as me and move my character out of the room.
A normal backtrace doesn't seem to complete - the client just freezes. What
output there is is attached.

Summary: Serious performance regression under Heroes of the
pacific.
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.32
Platform: PC-x86-64

Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: moimael(a)neuf.fr
Hi,
I'm using wine for a long time to play one of my favourite game : Heroes of the
pacific. The game was working great from wine 1.01 to wine 1.1.22 (1.1.23 does
not work at all), but since 1.1.24 to 1.1.32 i have noticed a several
performance regression.
Let me explain :
When i play a mission where there is only water and no ground, there is no
performance issue, but when i play a mission where there is a ground and when i
look at the ground, there is a several performance issue (but when i only look
at the sky, no problem, strange isnt it ?) that does not appears in wine before
1.1.22.
I've tried to do a regression test but it's very difficult because 1.1.23 does
not work with the game.
P.S: Excuse me for my poor english, it's not my primary language :s

Summary: PuTTY never times out when given an invalid server

Testing various stuff with putty for appinstall, I found PuTTY never times out.
Very easy to test:
$ wget http://the.earth.li/~sgtatham/putty/latest/x86/putty.exe
$ wine putty.exe www.google.com
On windows, times out after about 45-60 seconds (doesn't seem to be a hardcoded
value, though). On wine, let it run for 5 minutes and no timeout.
