Works pretty well for Singularity as well, but doesn't work at all when using
the sniper rifle. You're stuck wherever you were aiming before zooming.

What's the latest on this? I was thinking of having a look at this again. Is
there any more code out there?

Or was that the breakage caused by a HackShield update, not a change in Wine?

Apparently, HackShield works in 1.0.1 Stable. Of course being as old at it is,
I'd rather not use it, and I'm pretty sure it's at least part of the reason why
my computer keeps crashing when playing the game.
Anyone know where the difference is between the versions that allows it to run?
I'm looking at it but I don't really have any experience with the wine source,
or Windows internals. :S

Wine was on on February 12th, 2010. As that was when Mabinogi's HackShield was
updated, and started breaking in Wine.

VBA does not crash in wine-1.2-rc5. Debugging tools work as expected.

Summary: Team Fortress 2 launched from within steam loads, but
crashes when launching any map
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.13
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: critical
Priority: P1
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: zacharyjwelch(a)gmail.com
fully updated: Linux hostname 2.6.27-9-generic #1 SMP Thu Nov 20 21:57:00 UTC
2008 i686 GNU/Linux
Downloaded latest version of Steam YESTERDAY (1/19/09) from
www.steampowered.com and used it to download and update the latest release of
TF2 from my orangebox purchase.
The game launches from steam properly (after some tweaking) and i can see all
the main menu options, click and do.
However, when i "find servers" and choose a server to connect to, after I get
the familiar loading screen as all content is downloaded locally for the
server, it gets about 2/3 done loading and crashes. (TF2 not steam) with a pop
up error window saying:
Engine Error
CAudioSourceMemWave (****\***********.wav); GetDataPointer() failed.
where *\*.wav is any random directory and _.wav depending on which map is
trying to load. I tried it about 6 times and each time it was a different file
in a different location. The files are present in those locations however.
Also, after clicking "OK" on the error, clicking on my gnome system bar makes
it disappear, flash, both or crash the PC. depends how he gods of wine feel
that day.
I was unable to "Disable audio" in any manor that solved this.
I did add the following "registry" entires after the initial install per the
following thread:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=587780
and I reduced all the graphical options to minimum per suggestions in
debugging. This looks very much like a sound issue, so here's my sound config:
$sudo lspci|grep audio
05:06.0 Multimedia audio controller: Creative Labs SB Audigy (rev 04)
In my wineconf I have ALSA and OSS active and seem to have no other problem
with other applications (have WoW, Digsby, Ventrilo installed currently) except
some mic issues with vent.
Since steam is loaded from an icon in my wine menu that I added there is no
command window ouput. And at the moment I cant do anything else because my PC
is crashing as a result of all this....(which is why I chose "critical" status)
To be continued....

refining my previous comment.
OrCad is an MDI (?) app. I.e. multiple windows in a workspace.
The place part functionality fails if the specific schematic window within the
workspace loses focus, either by clicking on another window in the workspace,
or moving the mouse outside the workspace.
Could it be that WINPOS_ActivateOtherWindow() is activating the 'wrong' window?
I do have a patch that allows test mentioned in #22 to succeed, and yet OrCad
to work.
Copy static DEFDLG_GetDlgProc, then use it thus:
{
DLGPROC dlgproc;
if (!(dlgproc = DIALOG_GetDlgProc( hwnd )))
if (hwnd == GetActiveWindow())
WINPOS_ActivateOtherWindow( hwnd );
}
I.e. only call WINPOS_ActivateOtherWindow if the hwnd has no dialog proc, i.e.
it is not a real dialog window.
I'd love to know what app and symptom the failing test, and this code are
addressing. I have be trawling through the CVS logs, this line of code was
added in 2004 by juilliard to wine/windows/dialog.c cvs r1.130, and the test in
msg.c was added at the same time, with no comment about why.
I still maintain that the usage of EndDialog in tests/msg.c is unusual, and
doesn't actually test the 99.9% usage case where it is called from within the
dialog's dlgProc.
