Terminal Output
Pretty much the same as bug #20789 (which got closed), but I've installed GTASA
on my linux partition this time.
Steps are almost the same:
1.: Install GTA SA from DVD into a directory of your choice (I've installed
into "~/.wine/drive_c/games/GTA San Andreas").
2.: Apply NOCD crack.
3.: Create Windows-links to your tracks into the GTA Userfolder (which
usually resists in "~/GTA San Andreas User Files/User Tracks/").
4.: Start GTASA by running the cracked gta_sa.exe:
cd "~/.wine/drive_c/games/GTA San Andreas/" && wine gta_sa.exe
5.: Goto the Options/Audio Menu, choose User Track Options
6.: Let the game scan your Tracks.
7.: Experience Crash (followed by an Errormessage from Wine).
Slightly different Terminal output has been attached.
Used Wine Version: 1.1.33.
Additional Notes:
The game itself runs just fine. Only searching for Usertracks fails.

Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wineps.drv
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: kadlecf(a)fzu.cz
I am using with wine a custom-made program for windows which can produce a
page-like output for printing. I use the 'wineps printer using CUPS' for
generating postscript. This works, except one feature: whenever the page to be
printed contains vertical text from bottom to top, that one will print starting
at the right place but from top to bottom.
(If the text is a single letter, it is easy to correct in the output postscript
file-the lines
900 10 div matrix rotate
can be changed to
900 3.333 div matrix rotate
which fixes the problem. However, this simple trick will not work for a longer
text.)
The program is custom-made under Virtual Pascal, and the text is printed here
using the function CreateFontIndirect. For the screen, it is called
with lfEscapement=900; however, for printing, this has to be set to -900
because of reverse y coordinates. It seems that wine is not in line with this
convention of Windows...

Commit eb4ee4f4ada6d02aeb26b0e12964b208ecc68b52 patches
dlls/wined3d/surface_base.c
This causes a regression exhibited in the game "Prince of Persia 3D" as well as
the demo.
During the game, icons are displayed at the bottom of the screen indicating
health/weapon/etc. After the commit, the icons are surrounded by squares.
In virtual desktop mode only (not full screen mode), this commit does fix the
menus which flash/strobe what appears to be the previous contents of the
screen.
To recreate:
Download the demo, prince_of_persia_demo.zip, from one of the following URLs:

http://www.digit.pl/ftp/gry_297/Prince.of.Persia.3D..htmlhttp://www.idg.pl/ftp/gry_297/Prince.of.Persia.3D..html
Unzip, run the .exe and install.
Run c:/Program Files/Red Orb/Prince of Persia 3D De

Choose "New Game"
Look at the vial icons in the lower left or the sword icon in the lower right.

Log of crash
I upgraded from Wine 1.3.4 to Wine 1.3.5 recently, and when I tried to play
Guilty Gear X2 #Reload, it crashed when it tried to play the intro movies.
Before, it would just fail to play them and skip them.
This can be worked around by checking "Movie off" in the config, and it won't
try to play any movies at all.

Expected behaviour:
None of above things.
Additional information:
1) I use wine-1.3.15-297-gbd8b13a.
2) This is regression because it didn't happen in Wine 1.3.15.
3) Running AdMigrator.exe with Wine 1.3.15 doesn't help. Therefore regression
test would need me to re-install whole AutoCAD many times and I won't do this.
4) AdMigrator.exe complains when there is no dotnet20

Summary: Warcraft 3 disproportionately slow in d3d mode unless

Product: Wine

Severity: minor

ReportedBy: Simon80(a)gmail.com
Under default settings, Warcraft 3 runs very slowly on my system, whose
hardware is more than capable of of running it without framerate issues. When
run in OpenGL mode, the game runs smoothly without exception (60fps), but there
are probems with the rendering. In Direct3D mode, it renders correctly, but the
framerate is very low, under 15 fps. In the search for a playable
configuration, I discovered that setting
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\Direct3D:RenderTargetLockMode to disabled
results in much better framerates, around 30 fps. This isn't as good as the
OpenGL mode, but is still playable, and I didn't notice any rendering problems.
I tried some of the other possibilities (textex, readtex, texread, I think),
and the performance was just as slow.
I also discovered just now that Warcraft 3 has a registry setting,
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Blizzard Entertainment\Warcraft III\Video:lockfb,
which acts similarly (defaults to on, and when set to 0, performance becomes
acceptable). If neither of those two values are disabled, then performance is
disproportionately slow on this hardware.
I can grab debug output on request.

The service installs ok, and starts up when you run any windows app
(you can see via netstat -tlp that it's listening on port 5119),
but crashes when a client connects. You can reproduce the crash
either with a real access, e.g.
mplayer mms://localhost:5119/mediaroot/test.avi
as suggested by http://www.umediaserver.net/umediaserver/faq.html
or with
telnet localhost 5119
+relay,+seh on the service an seh event very soon after accept,
but there's a crash handler, so you can't see a backtrace.
I don't know how to use winedbg on a service -- the obvious
approach of using winedbg on the random command that starts
the service didn't seem to give a backtrace.

Hello everyone,
A new version of "ACDSee Pro" is out. AppDB entry is at the following address
but there is no entry for version 4. Could this be added?
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=299
Fortunately they offer a trial version which can be downloaded at:
http://downloads.acdsystems.com/en/acdseepro.exe
When I tried installing the trial version I had a window popping up mentioning
that "Wine has crashed" during installation. The installation went through for
some reasons though and the application doesn't work either.
I am using Mandriva 2010.2 with 2.6.36 Kernel from "Backports repository". PC
is an Athlon 2,6 Ghz with Nvidia 173-drivers.
Could you take a look at the application please?
Thanks,
Maik

In current git (after wine-1.1.43) the mouse cursor is not shown correctly
while playing Prey. Prior to the regression, while the game was loading the
cursor was changed to an hour glass. When the menu screen came up, the cursor
was changed to a game specific cursor. While playing the game the mouse cursor
was hidden hidden altogether.
With the regression in place, the mouse cursor does not change to an hour glass
while loading (it retains the one that matches my KDE theme). At the menu
screen, two mouse cursors are shown. One is the game provided cursor which
moves around the screen as you'd expect and the other is the one from KDE which
moves slightly but snaps back to the center when you move the mouse. When
playing the game, the same cursor remains on the screen and is not hidden.

the wrong patch. So I installed wine v1.1.30 from archive, whre The Bat! was
working and than wine v1.1.31, where The Bat! show this behaviour. (And yes: I
use always an new ~/.wine).
Sorry for this late report: this bug is shown since the version v1.1.31 up to
now (v1.1.40).

Since Version 1.1.27 I cannot read the font in Tales of Monkey Island (Chapter
1: Launch of the Screaming Narwhal and Chapter 2: The Siege of Spinner Cay).
See attachement.
It works with 1.1.26 (though I didn't do a regression test, because I have some
problems in building wine. I'll try it later).
I'm using a Ati video card (Radeon HD 4650) with Catalyst 9.8, Xserver 1.6.3,
Arch Linux (same problem in Ubuntu 9.04).

I tried to install Office 2003 in RC1, OpenSUSE 10.3, with a clean wineprefix,

I believe this is related to bug 12928, which has been closed as fixed. I ran a

This is on openSUSE 10.3, Wine 1.1.1. My version of Office 2003 Pro is provided
by my employer under their academic volume license; it does not require
entering a registration key as part of the install. I do not believe this is
the same bug as 13960, as the error message is different and it occurs at a
different point in the install process.
In 1.1.1, the installer now exits after choosing the type of install (Typical,
Custom), but before copying any files, with a popup message box that says
"Installation ended prematurely because of an error." The console output and
the error log created by the installer both mention error code 1627.
A regression test shows the patch responsible as:

Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 stopped installing today, 20 Oct. 2008. A pop-up
window right at the beginning of the installation identified the problem as not
finding IE5 or later.
Adding sh winetricks fakeie6 does not allow the program to install. The same
error message comes up.
??It installed correctly yesterday.
I have been asked to run a regression test, which I will do using the following
parameters.
good wine-1.1.6-314-g36d0140
bad wine-1.1.6-379-g07badc7
I hope to do that tomorrow, and post the results.
I have also been asked to check a patch:
http://winehq.org/pipermail/wine-patches/2008-October/063450.html
First instance says the patch does not solve the problem. Logs coming shortly.

msi: Convert command line property names to uppercase.
Before this commit, the installer nearly completes (albeit with some error
after components registration).
After this commit, the installer window now displays the license key, add a
step with EUCLA agreement window and later on, it aborts early in the
installation phase with the following error :
err:msi:ITERATE_Actions Execution halted, action L"CADpc" returned 1603
err:msi:ITERATE_Actions Execution halted, action L"ExecuteAction" returned 1603
This is a French version of Office XP with integrated multi-license key.

Summary: CDBurnerXP 3.0.x uses a wrong/invisible cursor on its

Full terminal output
On the initial mode selection screen, the cursor sometimes disappears when
hovering over one of the options; at other times, it shows the default arrow
cursor. By moving the cursor up and down through different modes, you can see
it alternate between default/invisible at random. Neither behavior matches
Windows; it uses a 'pointer' cursor when hovering over a mode. This used to
work correctly, so I tried to do a regression test, but I ended up with:
There are only 'skip'ped commit left to test.
The first bad commit could be any of:
3044d734b1cd84746cc57ace8b79a156ea9391b1
776527f38f2ff89f354e49aa8df795440677376a

eed9c63ac7650293523da5c8d067c74258568ba8
We cannot bisect more!
Any of these builds resulted in the program terminating with an X error. This
cursor problem still happens in git, so I guess it's different from bug 22463
(marked fixed).
It might be worth noting that although none of these commits changed it, using
native oleaut32 works around the problem. Maybe this output that appears when
hovering over one of the mode options is relevant:
fixme:ole:OleIconToCursor (0x400000,0x100b0), partially implemented.
I'll leave component set to unknown for now.
