Output when running firefoxportable.
When attempting to run Firefox Portable 4.0.1 from its directory (cd
FirefoxPortable; wine FirefoxPortable.exe), it fails to find several dlls that
exist in the subdirectory Firefox:
smime3.dll
ssl3.dll
nss3.dll
nssutil3.dll
plc4.dll
plds4.dll
mozalloc.dll
mozcpp19.dll
and so closes immediately after showing the Portable Apps splash. Firefox

The game crashes immediately after a loading screen appears. I believe it's
when the developer or publisher logo plays (followed by the game's intro
video). The videos are bink videos located in the \fmv\ntsc\ folder of the
game.
In previous versions of Wine this game worked and I was able to play it through
to the end.

There's a download available, feel free to test it yourself.

You can allow Wine to access that memory, see
http://wiki.winehq.org/PreloaderPageZeroProblem

No reason to abandon it, there's a download available.

Happily, works for me in locale en_US.utf8 without wineconsole.
Looks like this is fixed.

Still no terminal output.
Should probably be CLOSED ABANDONED, as no real activity for ~2.5 years

should probably be CLOSED INVALID, as same error occurs in a VM (see comment 13
above).

has seen last activity about 1.5 years ago, so it should probably get the
keyword "abandoned?".
Wine 1.3.20 refuses to launch the attached Dos-program, as DOS memory is
unavailable. So this bug may have to wait until DOSBOX integration is complete.
This bug should either be marked NEW (or ASSIGNED), as there are multiple users
reporting the issue (and there's someone, the bug is assigned to)
or be marked as CLOSED ABANDONED, as there was no activity for ~1.5years

Fwiw, Lionel Ulmer is unlikely to fix either bug because he hasn't been active
since years.
Also the bugs aren't duplicates. They are different bugs with similar symptoms.
In this bug the app's content is visible, but the entire screen is cleared to
black once. In the other bug the app's contents never show up because they are
rendered to a window that is obscured by another window.

I have had that ALT-TAB experience in Diablo 1! Maybe it is nearing a solution?

This is a duplicate of 2082. It is the same problem. This one should be removed
as it is unassigned.

Could you give me some example strings in Unicode that are not shaping properly
and tell me what is wrong? That will help me locate and correct shaping
errors.

this bug is still present in 1.3.19.
should probably get a lower priority rating.
