Bug #: 32017
Summary: Culpa Innata: in-game mouse pointer stuck in the metro
scene
Product: Wine
Version: 1.5.15
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: winex11.drv
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: gyebro69(a)gmail.com
Classification: Unclassified
This is a long-standing bug according to AppDB. I remember playing the game
with Wine 1.3.x, and I used the patch from bug #6971 to overcome the problem
that time.
Bug #6971 has been fixed, but the problem in Culpa Innata remained intact.
Early in the game there is a scene where the main heroine is travelling in the
metro. Her PDA crashes and at this point the mouse pointer that worked without
problem so far, becomes useless: it is unable to move on the screen. Since the
game is mouse-driven only, there is no way to proceed further or even quit the
game normally.
As far as I remember, it is the only scene in the game that triggers this bug,
but it makes the game unplayable.
No demo available. Plain terminal output doesn't show anything interesting. Let
me know if you need a log with debug channels enabled.

Summary: StarCraft2 zerg bloodstains and overlords slime

Product: Wine
Version: 1.2
Platform: x86-64

Screenshot attached shows a bloodstains of zerg (and only zergs, terrans are
unaffected) that are covering full screen. Size of bug-affected effects depends
on camera position. While moving camera it may cover all screen, as on
screenshot or disappear completely, with few in-middle variants.
Done on ATI HD4570, kernel 2.6.35, fglrx-10.7. wine-1.2 and 1.3.0 tested.
UseGLSL=disabled - without this bloodstains are not rendered at all.

Bug #: 30979
Summary: Skyrim: Opaque green consumes whole scene when
character is underwater
Product: Wine
Version: 1.5.7
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: jeff(a)deserettechnology.com
Classification: Unclassified
When your character is submersed in Skyrim, the water is supposed to be mostly
transparent and allow the user to see underwater. Wine draws a solid green,
blue, or black scene (depending on the color of the water and time of day, I
guess). The player's HUD is unaffected.
See attached screenshots. These were taken in the river between Riverwood and
Whiterun. One shows night and another day.
I have not tested on Windows so I don't know 100% that this is unexpected
behavior, but it certainly seems off to me.
I have found these two YouTube videos of persons going underwater in Skyrim:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKMuKqrixi4https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7UIpHLkRCk
The first shows little view obstruction. The second shows a screen quite
similar to those in the screenshots for a while, but as the player descends,
objects become visible; in Wine, nothing ever comes into visibility as far as I
have tested; I cannot see salmon or other fish underwater even when they are
right next to me (slaughterfish attack, opportunity to "catch salmon", etc.)
and the sea floor/riverbed never come into focus. Just this green screen all
the time in every water body in which I have attempted to swim thus far.
This occurs on Wine 1.5.6, 1.5.7, and all commits in between (recompiled every
day between these releases to no change). If someone could confirm that this
behavior is indeed unexpected and does not occur on Windows, I would appreciate
that.

It looks like this: http://i.imgur.com/fQJuA.png
I have no games other than ME3 in Origin. When I start ME3, the intro video
freezes for a second after 2-3 seconds and then this ugly rectangle appears
with a piece of the video on it. It's an always on top windows, undrawable,
unmanaged (it's shown on all tags in Awesome WM), unclickable, unresizable etc.
and it appears always on the same position and has always the same size. It
just sits there and obstructs playing. I've tried both stable Origin and Origin
Beta without any difference. I also tried to get its ID with xprop and hide it
with xdotool but it reappears instantly with another window ID. I turned off
all possible notifications and popups in Origin and it's still there.

Lego Loco thread backtraces
With today's Git (wine-1.1.6-314-g36d0140), when attempting to start the Lego
Loco application, the application simply hangs on a black screen. A bit of
tracing shows the hang to be due to the mciavi asynchronous playback thread
being blocked in a ShowWindow call:
if (!(GetWindowLongW(wma->hWndPaint, GWL_STYLE) & WS_VISIBLE))
ShowWindow(wma->hWndPaint, SW_SHOWNA);
which seems to suggest that the problem lies in user32. Thread backtraces and
trace logs are attached.

Using MathCAD 2000 Pro under wine-1.2-rc7 the dockable tool pallets icons don't
render. I have to manually resize the tool pallets and run the mouse pointer
over the empty tool pallet to get the icons to show up. After that everything
is fine so long as the tool pallet isn't resized. By the way this has never
worked in any release of wine that I've tried over the years.
