console trace
World of Goo (Steam version) crashes on startup when run on Ubuntu 12.04 with
latest Wine package installed. First complains about requiring multiple back
buffers, then reports the attempted use of un-implemented functions in
msvcp80.dll before crashing.
Problem is fixed by installing vcrun2005 through winetricks.

Summary: locomotive like noise effects with Syberia 2
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.10
Platform: PC

OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: winmm&mci
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: hoehle(a)users.sourceforge.net
CC: dmitry(a)codeweavers.com
To close bug #12255 for 1.1.6, Dmitry Timoshkov wrote a patch to winmm/mmio.c
that stopped a loud locomotive-like noise that plagued Syberia2 (retail & demo)
between versions 1.1.0 and 1.1.5.
1.1.6 worked perfectly.
Alas, Dmitry's post-1.1.6 patch to the same file
commit d40e003303d4ae2a2239ddfd5ef8b0be61959ac4
winmm: MMIO_ALLOCBUF is ignored if mmioOpen gets a valid buffer
reintroduced the noise.
Vitaliy Margolen asked that I create a new bug item for this issue, i.e. the
old one be kept closed.

Bug #: 32187
Summary: Image Composite Editor fails to install with a
VSDCA_VsdLaunchConditions msi error
Product: Wine

+msi installer log
When running the Microsoft Image Composite Editor installer, it exits silently.
In the log I see the following line which looks like it could be the source of
trouble.
err:msi:ITERATE_Actions Execution halted, action L"VSDCA_VsdLaunchConditions"
returned 1603
The Overdrive media installer seems to have run in a similar error, however in
that case it was related to WMP9 / Vista, but in this case I saw no reference
to WMP9 and setting the Windows version to Vista did not help.
I'm attaching a +msi log for reference.

Bug #: 32349
Summary: Wine can't handle pre-configured files
Product: Wine
Version: 1.5.18
Platform: x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: sworddragon2(a)aol.com
Classification: Unclassified
I have manually created the file ~/.wine/system.reg with the following content:
[Software\\Microsoft\\Windows NT\\CurrentVersion] 0
"CSDVersion"="Service Pack 1"
"CurrentBuildNumber"="7601"
"CurrentVersion"="6.1"
"ProductName"="Microsoft Windows 7"
Starting winecfg will show me Windows XP instead of Windows 7. But the most
problem is that Wine doesn't now save any configurations anymore. The easiest
solution would be if Wine would use this incremental configuration and fill the
rest with the default values.
