I see the same. I did: $ rm -rf .wine $ winetricks -q ie7 #workaround installer bugs $ wine wlsetup-custom.exe $ cd ~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Windows Live/Messenger $ wine msnmsgr.exe shows that same crash. Interesting, winetricks vcrun2005 doesn't fix it (even if I run that before setup). This crash has always been there, but you were able to continue using it before. Now it just exits, which makes IE8 useless. This one crash happens always in about 10 seconds.
