However, nothing happens when doing this in the main disc layout view, on the bottom-right (at least until you try to move the cursor - then you'll run into another bug). Using winetricks comctl32 makes the menu appear as it should. Now that it's installed and I have acquired the only patch (a replacement executable) available for the game (which fixes it's demand for a 1280x1024x8 video mode which this laptop can't use), it consistently crashes upon launch. I've attached the basic output from the crash, if further information is needed, just lemme know.
