The WinUAE Amiga emulator uses raw input by default. When using raw input, WinUAE is unable to detect when the user presses the Pause key. WinUAE can detect presses of the Pause key when using DirectInput. To reproduce: - Download and run the WinUAE installer - Run WinUAE. By default it uses raw input. When the settings window opens click Start. - Press the Pause key several times. Each press should be reflected in the status bar at the bottom of the window and should pause/unpause emulation. But nothing happens. There is some Wine console output on each press, something like this: fixme:win:DefRawInputProc (paRawInput=0x4ccf240, nInput=1, cbSizeHeader=16) stub! fixme:win:DefRawInputProc (paRawInput=0x4ccf240, nInput=1, cbSizeHeader=16) stub! - Quit WinUAE and run it again, this time passing a -norawinput argument on the command line. That causes WinUAE to use DirectInput instead. - Click Start and press Pause several times. There are probably a number of ways to cause the same crash, but the app is unusable. Fresh install of Ubuntu as of a few weeks ago. Fresh install of wine1.2 from package manager. Expecting to use the c:\windows\system32\relog.exe built-in windows utility to convert performance monitor counters from one format to another. wine relog.exe > output works OK. I can read the output. However, actually using the program relog.exe in production fails and crashes.
