[Bug 31298] New: Window managers can't switch between open Excel files

When more than one file is open in Excel 2007, they are each shown in my tray (lxpanelx) and my window manager's task switcher (I've tried with metacity and openbox). Activating these entries only raises a tiny little window with nothing in it, not the actual Excel window with the file. There is also an additional entry, and activating it does raise Excel, but it does not allow me to switch between the different Excel files. The only way to switch between the different Excel files is using "View-Window-Switch Windows". I'm guessing this is related to these messages which Metacity outputs when the second Excel file is opened: Window manager warning: Log level 8: meta_display_register_x_window: assertion `g_hash_table_lookup (display->window_ids, xwindowp) == NULL' failed Window manager warning: Log level 8: meta_display_register_x_window: assertion `g_hash_table_lookup (display->window_ids, xwindowp) == NULL' failed 2. Word and Excel behave differently with multiple open files on Windows, so naturally they also have different problems with Wine. When more than one file is open in Word 2007, they are each shown in my tray and my window manager's task switcher, and activating these entries raises the correct Word window with the document. But using "View-Window-Switch Windows" does not work in Word (N.B. I hear the sound, but have a black screen. Should print dots when moving window. I've a small project to school about WinAPI. And the tutorial on school webpage suggest using WM_MOVING signal to react at window movement. But it doesn't work in Wine. In attachement is part of the tutorial using WM_MOVING. Use "winegcc -mwindows wmmoving.c" to build it. I tested it on virtualized Win XP using MinGW, and WM_MOVING works there. Steps to reproduce: 1. wintricks firefox dotnet20 (the dotnet because if you don't install it, a messagebox pops up, to point to the root install of .Net) 2. Launch firefox, and browse to www.xenocode.com. Now install the Spoon plugin, as suggested in the window. 3. After suggested restarting of firefox, try run one of the apps from the webpage, like ie8, or Google Chrome. In wine, you'll notice that (after some time) the app keeps buffering over and over again, and never runs to completion. I tried fiddling around a bit with some native dlls like wininet etc, but that didn't help, which makes me think it might be a winsock bug.
